So less than half an inch of rain/drizzle has actually fallen so far out here in the Sweet Spot over the past 24 hours — not at all an amount to be concerned over. We should in any case see an end to the messiness by mid-afternoon, and while Mr. Coffee once again had nothing do with it, there is indeed a pot of freshly-brewed, single-estate Kona ready to be consumed in the kitchen. There’s just no better way to start the day.

Totally understandable actually how the assorted clownfish here find the details of OUR lives so much more compelling than those of their own. Of course, we get to wake up whenever in the sunlit woods, fields, and streams of the Sweet Spot, take our time making and enjoying pots of freshly-brewed single-estate Kona and some suitable form of breakfast before we head out again for our reserved parking and Club Level seats at Nats Park. That’s a very different routine from what the ever-embittered bozo boys will be going through today. Very different indeed.

So I tried the (new) calamari at The Red Porch just now. Not bad. Word on my guy Tommy is that he did indeed have a stroke. They got him all-patched up at the hospital and he’s now resting at home for a couple of weeks. This is good!

So all the pieces have now been put back in place out in the Sweet Spot. Not much good news for the Nats on the field tonight, but it was nice to see the Red Porch people once again, and even more so to hear that Tommy is holding his own. We’ll be back at the park on Saturday vs PHI, so we’ll see how everyone is doing once again then.

Not really. First time all of our Ballpark Pals had been together in quite a while, so we made an easy-chair circle in the Club Lounge and stayed warm in there for all of the pre-game. Yup. Been doing this for 65 years and loved every minute of it. East Coast, West Coast, or somewhere in between — play the National Anthem, and then play a game of baseball. It’s great when the NATS are good or at least win, but it's baseball regardless, and that’s what seems to matter most.

More fable, fraud, and fiction. As we do in fact own the house on McHenry Street that you are so taken by, there are quite naturally occasions when one of our cars will be parked there. It is Vienna Guy’s cars however that are regularly parked there while ours are regularly found out in the Sweet Spot — a scant six miles away, yet totally beyond your ken.
