The MDA Show of Strength is an annual televised benefit concert held each Labor Day Weekend in the United States to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The program is the successor to the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon, an annual telethon that ran until 2010.
In 2011, darkness descended on the telethon, as the duration was cut to 6 hours and Jerry Lewis was no longer the host.
Now the telethon, like Jerry, is a pale ghost of what it once was.
We need to bring back the spectacle, the show business, and the near-torturous sweat equity that made the MDA telethon able to bring in tens of millions of dollars every year.
Radio's Robb Spewak can bring the very serious business of show back to the telethon, with style, energy, and comedy.
Raise your voices to the MDA, and let them know there is a light at the end of the dark shortened Jerry-less tunnel they now find themselves in, and that light's name is Robb Spewak.
