Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
After 20 years of having a cost free take home company car I now have to commute on my own dime. Commute is Burke to Marshall VA. need 35 hwy mpg. I am a fat guy 6ft 3in 330#.
I can get into a toyota matrix or a ford focus. Honda fit is too tight and the steering wheel would rub holes in the front of all my work shirts. Any other ideas besides going on a diet?

LOL It's always funny when obese people ride motorcycles, especially when I see them ride scooters.

as a large man myself, If you're all about the gas mileage - I loved my 2002 VW Passat GLX with a 5 speed manual transmission... I was able to get 36 miles per gallon consistently!
How about a Camry? The 4 cyl model is rated at 35 hwy.Honda Accord is bigger inside but the mileage is a little less.
Crown Vics aren't bad.I used to get 28 hwy out of my 92 model.
Running around nova I got 22-23.
I love the higher remark.....higher a driver........I wish some people would higher grammar coaches.....or at least stay in school long enough to learn to spell.
Think about a Toyota Highlander. The electric driver seat gives you much more headroom than the reg. seat . I get 23-24 on the road w/ 4wd, or so they call it. It is actually a FWD that automatically switched to AWD or can be switched manually with a button. Seemed good in snow this year too
