Is there a state agency we can send an official complaint about Safe Ride to? I don't mean Better Business Bureau where they rate companies by letter grade either.

Safe Ride:

1.) Employs people to act as taxi drivers without having licenses that are required for taxi driving.

2.) Drivers are not insured.

3.) They have a donations page on their website even though they are a for-profit entity.

4.) Do not report their business income.

This company needs to be put out of business and the owners fined. Do they even have a business license?

Believe me, I'm not a DJ Majik or Paper Moon fan. Low-lifes are just not my thing.

But I do think SafeRide provides a valuable service and Allan seems like a nice enough guy. He actually saved his money instead of spending it in the clubs to make hinself feel important and buy attention from women.

And eesh and the rest, you have committed the cardianl sin. You have become BORING. Very, very boring. Quit this and move on to something else.

Boring like DJ Majik's music? He sounds like early 90s techno and remixed 80s songs. You know, the stuff you hear at Gold's Gym.

The IRS would classify those "donations' as taxable tip income; however, you strip club losers are used to not declaring all your income.

Most strip club DJ's have to fill out a daily report & turn it into the office before they leave. Do they claim all their tips? Prob not but do you think waitress's claim all their tips or waiters? Seriously would you claim every dime you make??

If you were just letting your friend drive your car, he would be covered. However, you are hiring a for hire driver ( a hack), who works for a company that is supposed to have its own insurance policy.

Does said company have a hack license? No.

Is said company insured ( All companies have policies)? No.

These "donations" are tips, and as a for profit entity, they are taxable income. Not declaring them is tantamount to tax fraud.

Hack License: a permit, license or other authority issued by a governmental agency authorizing a person to drive a taxicab in service to customers in that area.

How many times is it gonna take for you to understand that safe ride is NOT a taxi service? therefor, they cannot obtain for a hack license because it does NOT apply to them!! they do not drive a taxi cab, they drive a different vehicle every ride!!! did you guys cheat to pass your G.E.D exam? cause that's like cheating to pass the world's dumbest person test....

For argument's sake, let's assume you are right (but you aren't.) In the state of Virginia, you are not required to have auto insurance to drive (you can pay an annual fee to DMV instead.) Also, you assume that people have made payments to their insurance company, and not let coverage lapse.

Have you taken into account what happens if one of your drivers wrecks a person's car, one that wasn't insured? What then, genius?

Yikes. Does it have to be McDonald's? How about Five Guys or even Panera.

You can't just start a taxi service by registering an LLC. There's a reason why the taxi industry is regulated and has rules about displaying their license, the fares they can charge, etc.

The strip club DJ is in for a rude awakening.

This still doesn't address the issue. If one of your drivers wrecks a person's car that had no insurance, what are you going to do?

This is a heavily photoshopped pic. First, DJ Majik doesn't have that tribal tattoo in any of his newer pics, his face has been airbrushed, and the girl looks like a stock photo that was placed behind DJ Majik and the motorcycle.

When you use SafeRide, you are paying a company to provide a driver for your car. Your car is, at that point, being used for business purposes and operated by a business entity. Thus, the business is liable for anything that happens when their employee gets behind the wheel of your car. It is not the same as giving your buddy $25 bucks to be the DD that night.

This is, again, why the taxi industry is regulated; if a taxi driver gets into an accident that injures the passenger or someone in another vehicle, the company can be held responsible and taken to court for property damage, medical bills, etc. If the SafeRide guy t-bones another car because they didn't see a stop sign, you (the owner of the car) are fucked. Your own personal insurance will have to cover the damages to both cars as well as your injuries and any injuries the other driver sustains, since "insurance follows the car."

Of course, you can opt to spend money on legal fees to take SafeRide to court to recoup the losses, but good luck with that. If the company doesn't have insurance (and it sounds like they don't), then you'll essentially be suing Alan and the driver directly. Since they're still asking for donations as part of their business model, I doubt you'll see a lot of money from them, especially since Alan sunk all of his strip club cash into starting this stupid company.

But hey, potentially saving a couple bucks and not having to act responsibly is worth the risk, right?

1.) His tattoos are prison grade quality.

2.) The tribal tattoo that reaches down his left arm (right side in the pic) is photoshopped in the motorcycle pic.

Except my buddy isn't acting on behalf of a registered LLC, he didn't have to fill out an application to drive my car, the $25 is a gift instead of taxable income, I won't be giving him a W-2 in January... Do I need to go on?

> TAXI SERVICE HAS REGULATIONS BECAUSE THEY USE
> THEIR OWN CARS AND RIGHT EVERYTHING OFF WHEN TAX

That's stupid. Many companies maintain their own fleet of cars and almost all companies do tax WRITE-offs at the end of the year. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

Taxi services are regulated because they are performing commercial services. It's the same reason why truck drivers and bus drivers need special licenses to do that job.

> SHIT, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA THE KIND OF PEOPLE THAT
> DRIVE YOUR DUMBASS AROUND IN A TAXI, NOT BUT 2

Of course taxi drivers fuck up. However, they (and their company) can be held accountable when they do. SafeRide drivers, however, are not. If they fuck up, you pay for it one way or another.

> you all are now fighting about the fact that safe
> ride may or may not have a insurance policy in

They are legit in that the strip club DJ guy filled out the form and mailed a check to the Virginia government, but that's where the legitimacy ends. I can't stress this enough: if SafeRide screws up, YOU PAY FOR IT. If a taxi screws up, YOU DON'T PAY FOR IT.

It is a great idea in theory, but the operation of the business puts too much risk and accountability on the customer for me to ever consider using them. If one of their drivers wrecks my vehicle, I doubt Alan is going to pay for the repairs, replace the car, or cover the cost difference in my now-higher insurance rates.

> NOW YOU CAN DONATE TO ANY COMPANY IN THE WORLD,
> THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE IT UP ON THEIR PAGE MAKES

Wait, we're losers if we have legitimate jobs with legitimate companies that aren't run by ex-strip club DJs and operate on sketchy business practices? I guess I'm a loser, then.

> MAY YOU HATERS NEVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE LOST OF
> A LOVED ONE DUE TO A DRUNK PERSON CAUSE THEN YOU

SPOILER: This service won't save any lives. People drink and drive because they think they're capable of driving in their impaired state, not because there isn't a charitable organization like SafeRide around to take care of them. The people that plan on drinking but not driving will make plans to avoid driving, such as taking a taxi or the Metro. I could see this "service" being used as an absolute last resort, but pretending like people have been dying or getting DUIs because nobody thought to start something like this is just so much hubris.

It would seem that Safe Ride LLC has an army of supporters that think writing IN ALL CAPS and no punctuation gets their message across.

Just like "SafeRide will fail" said, people drive drunk and crash, etc. because they thought they were capable of driving impaired, not because there was a lack of a company like Safe Ride.

You aren't saving lives, and you aren't making any money with this venture of yours.

No matter how badly you want it to, this company is not going to have an impact on the number of DUIs and alcohol-related deaths that occur every year. The people that drink and drive are going to drink and drive. The people who drink and then realize they shouldn't drive aren't going to drive, whether that means taking a taxi, the Metro, or calling this sketchy service.

SafeRide is only VERY slightly cheaper than a taxi, but those savings go out the window if your SafeRide "chauffeur" is involved in even a simple fender bender.

Owned by the cab driver who works for, is insured by, and is licensed for the cab company.

It's funny that you're trying to explain to me what a write-off is, but you couldn't even spell it correctly initially, and your definition is wholly inaccurate. Here, this should help you:

I'm definitely glad I'm working at a legit company instead of making peanuts at a stupid business venture like SafeRide.

SafeRide is the equivalent of a guy that sets up an LLC, hires a bunch of illegal immigrants, and calls it a legitimate landscaping business.

Still a sketchy business. They can run for three years without incident and that still won't change the fact that if they crash, you pay for it.

Again, SafeRide is the equivalent of a guy that sets up an LLC, hires a bunch of illegal immigrants, and calls it a legitimate landscaping business. You call them and ask them to cut down some tree branches in your back yard. Two guys show up in a pick-up truck with a rope and a chainsaw. While working, one guy falls out of the tree on your property and breaks his leg. Guess who's responsible? Unless the company insured the workers, YOU are responsible because the accident happened on your property.

Same thing with SafeRide. Driver has an accident, you pay for it. Hell, you'd probably have to pay for any injuries the driver sustains too, since he'd be relying on the insurance coverage you're providing for the car.

Show me proof that this company insures its drivers and accepts full responsibility and liability for you and your vehicle while one of their employees is driving, and I will change my opinion.

If you notice, most of the pictures posted have been from DJ Majik himself. He is desperate to prove himself here.

who the fuck cares about YOUR opinion? if safe ride gets me home safe cause i decided to stay late with my friends at a bar then im happy!!! im sure they have insurance, you just keep assuming they don't!! has anybody actually called them to find out? you all think they will fail because you bash them on-line? you're just as ignorant as eesh if thats what you believe, its a great idea and it will succeed, just watch!! and if a worker does break his leg on my property and goes after me, oh well, better him than me, if i had tried to cut the damn tree myself i would've hurt myself too, i guarantee you that, so fuck it, i have insurance for a reason, im not broke, maybe you are, thats your problem, go get a better job! i swear sometimes i don't think people are worthy of life.... do u drive drunk and risk dying or killing someone? or do u let somebody drive you home and take a smaller risk with a PROFESSIONAL DRIVER? its as simple as going on their site and seeing how they screen their drivers!! they're doing it right!! I mean, do you even know how to read?

Alan, the owner of saferide, freely admitted that they have no insurance earlier in the the thread. Btw, where did you learn punctuation? You use commas as if they were periods!
