Ito, you've just about nailed it. There are a few other details that are relevant. For example, most folks in the general area knew/knows the Smith brothers were bad news and not to be fucked with. Wyatt and his buddies apparently thought that robbing a bunch of kids 3-4 years younger would make them tough guys, even though one of the youths was the younger Smith brother.

Fast forward to the 7-11 encounter when Wyatt quickly realizes this was a mistake after the older Smith bitch-slaps him through the car window.

Also, Wyatt and Randy swung by Grandmas to drop off some dope along with pick up a golf club.

Then there is the post-fight craziness where Wyatt's 'crib' jumps on this forum and speculates that Randy/Sandy/Wyatt's girlfriend are responsible for his death and have set him up, the mystery man who dumped Wyatt off at the hospital, and of course the 'memorial' behind the RH shopping center with the picture of St. Wyatt holding a shitty bottle of malt liquor. Said memorial was also accompanied by a bunch of empty bunkers of the same shitty malt liquor. They had to move the memorial after someone tried to burn it down or the store owners got sick of all the litter, I can't remember which one.

I think that just about covers it.

This is the problem with your argument as I see it. Wyatt didn't simply "go outside". He picked up a golf club at his grandmother's house and then walked to the 7/11. He went there with the purpose of confronting the kid who showed him a toy gun late at night.

This wasn't just a "random" occurrence -- Wyatt caused this incident. First he robbed the kid, then he wanted to beat down the kid some more (after smashing out the car window).

The most redeeming thing anyone has said about him is that he liked turtles.

First off he didn't just go in the house and pick up a golf club, he had beem home about 15 minutes and had planned on staying in, when he got a phone call from Randy, What was said I do not know, 2nd after he went outside with the golf club, he didnt walk to 7-11 you dumb ass, it all happened by the Safeway in the alley way.

I was saddened by Wyatt's death and just now read this forum/thread.

I was an assistant coach for Wyatt's youth baseball team years ago. He was a terrible athlete and a big-time pain in the ass,but somewhere deep down inside I always thought there was a lovable kid there (not Jerry Sudansky lovable, you pervs).

The problem with Wyatt and his brother IMHO was their upbringing. I rarely saw his mother at his games or practices and when she was there she was with her man-o-the-week or one of her girlfriends. No father to speak of. The anchor of that family was Wyatt's grandmaother, who did everything she could to make sure those boys turned out ok. She was a great lady.

When I heard rumors about Wyatt burning down the Rose Hill Elementary school playground, getting kicked out of Rose Hill and Edison it didn't really surprise me, it just made me sad. Any one with a lick of sense could have seen it coming. One of Wyatt and his brother's favorite time of playing baseball was sitting on the bench where they could torment their fellow teammates by spraying water or spitting on them. The only thing that was better than that for them was the end of the game, when they could spit in their hands and shake the opponents' hands. They thought that was hilareous and no matter how many times the coach an myself approached the boys and Sheila it would never change.

They were kicked out of the league a few years after that, from what I understand. A sad story indeed.

Just because the jury came back with a non-guilty verdict on Murder 2, doesn't change anything, you think this is the first case of murder where the guy got away with it, and there was more to the story then people knew.

As was documented before Wyatt was a terrible athlete, very uncoordinated, and quite possibley brain damaged from all the pot he smoked. Even before then, smelling the fumes from the plastic playground equipment burning at Rose Hill probably made him even more brain dead and uncoordinated than a normal kid.

So yeah, as long as you're not a stationary car window it probably would be easy to slip under his drug-induced golf club swing and stab the shit out of the punk before he killed you, thus the whole self-defense (vs. 'SELF FUCKIN DEFENSE') that the jury agreed with.

Seeing this thread rise to the surface again, mistaken curiosity compelled me to see what had been written, and the first thing I see, of course, is another posting by GordonBlvd, where he has surpassed even himself, by posting a photograph of the gravesite of this young man, Wyatt Campbell.

Just when I had written you off as a stupid white trash (you certainly intentionally(?) affect a "cracker writin' style) internet bully looking for any opportunity to push your way into a conversation, you break through this rather low floor and sink even lower...by posting a photo of the young man's grave. What in world, may I ask, do you think to accomplish by doing this? Is this an attempt to make a point? To be humorous?

You claim to be a parent. How would you feel if one of your children were murdered and some loser posted a photo of their gravesite? From looking at your other posts, this is where you would say, "Well, dang it, My chilin' ain't never gonna get inna fight with someone behind the store," but you should have enough residual mental capacity to see how cruel it would be to see such a photo posted, whatever the cause of death...but I guess that still gives you a chuckle.
