I hate to say this, but it's true.
So...
BTW, my mother was a teacher when I was young.
But, living in DC, when I got out of college, we hung with a bunch of other young graduates, who happened themselves to be teachers.
And what a bunch of nasty losers they were.
I'll be honest-they might not have been too different from us. The fundamental difference, though, was weren't in charge of the lives of a roomful of 1st through 6th graders.
On the other hand, they might have been different than us.
They weren't really that smart-while many of us had studied difficult things in college (engineering, finance, pre-law), they studied Phys ed...and early childhood education...you know, classes we might take to round out a semester, that were SIMPLE.
I noticed them to be a catty, emotional, angry lot....getting drunk out of their minds on the weekends, huge, illogical fights with their boyfriends, self destructive behavior...
I'm thinking, s&&&, these are the dingbats that are teaching are children?
