outh Carolina. A volunteer on Seacoast Church’s security team accidentally fired his weapon in the building. He had unloaded his 9mm handgun and placed it on a windowsill with the slide open. After inserting a magazine and releasing the slide, he did a dry-fire, not realizing there was a round in the chamber. It struck the floor. 2/2019
Utah. A .22 revolver accidentally fired in a Mormon church, sending a bullet through a wall and into a classroom with teens. It was carried in a backpack by a 74-year-old man. The hammer apparently got caught on something. 9/2018

Missouri. A truck driver’s .38 accidentally fired in a church, shooting a man through the chest. The two men were cleaning up after a fundraiser. The Cobra Derringer fell out of the man’s coat pocket as he prepared to leave, hit the floor, and fired. Because people were popping balloons, he didn’t even know his gun had fired.
