I'm confused...

So, when some skell gets the drop on me and I'm staring down the barrel, I'm not supposed to be afraid?

If you take the time to be afraid, you're dead.

There is time to be afraid while you wait, you channel that when time to act. That is the difference between the real deal and the Hollywood version. Since there is a 99.999% chance you'll never experience the real deal, why are you afraid of an inanimate object?

The left would rather people be victims than to protect themselves. I am getting old and my reactions have slowed. However, when I go to the range, I see my eyesight hasn't deteriorated and a firearm is now the best way for me to handle an intruder. Warren, Booker, Harris and every other leftist can kiss my fucking ass. I will not give up my so called "assault weapon" for their political gain. Democrats are idiots who have this utopian belief that laws will stop crime and that ultimately people will join hands and sing campfire songs. Believe that bullshit if you want. As for me, I'll defend myself as I see best and if it means keeping a firearm in my home, that is none of your business.

In 1968, the U.K. passed laws that reduced the number of licensed firearm owners, and thus reduced firearm availability. U.K. homicide rates have steadily risen since then. 9 Ironically, firearm use in crimes has doubled in the decade after the U.K. banned handguns. (Weapons sell for just £50 as suspects and victims grow ever younger, The Times, August 24, 2007)

You don't know my life. What I have seen, done and experienced and I don't know yours.

Obviously, if someone has received professional training, they know what to do.

The subject here is a fear of weapons...I only fear weapons that are threatening me.

Myth: So-called Assault weapons are a serious problem in the U.S.

Fact: In 1994, before the Federal “assault weapons ban,” you were eleven (11) times more likely to be beaten to death than to be killed by an “assault weapon.” (Based on death rates reported by CDC and FBI Uniform Crime Statistics and estimating from state-level reporting on the percent of crimes involving types of firearms)

Fact: In the first 7 years since the ban was lifted, murders declined 43%, violent crime 43%, rapes 27% and robberies 49%. (FBI Uniform Crime Statistics, Uniform Crime Reporting Statistics – UCR Data Online, 1995-2012)

Fact: Nationally, “assault weapons” were used in 1.4% of crimes involving firearms and 0.25% of all violent crime before the enactment of any national or state “assault weapons” ban. In many major urban areas (San Antonio, Mobile, Nashville, etc.) and some entire states (Maryland, New Jersey, etc.) the rate is less than 0.1%. (Targeting Guns, Gary Kleck, Aldine Transaction, 1997, compilation of 48 metropolitan police departments from 1980-1994)

These will continue as long as the media gives these murderous basturds their 15-minutes of fame. The last couple that were caught claimed they wanted to outdo the previous. If the media refused to mention their name, they will stop. They can mention anything else about them, but their name or even their photo. They are only looking for attention in their pathetic little lives.

Not a single law proposed by the Dems would have or will make a difference. The first of these school shootings happened in the middle of Clinton's assault weapons ban. All the murderers obtained their weapons either legally or through means already illegal (but not enforced).

More gun-control laws is like saying, "they are speeding too often on this road, so we'll just lower the speed limit, that will fix it." When the solution is much simpler, post police there to enforce the law. Speeding will decrease significantly.

I like it when the pro gun guys always talk about some fantasy they have in their little minds. It always seems to involve someone breaking into their house and raping their daughter or wife. Gun guys seem to be obsessed with rape. Maybe all that fear makes them think that way.

I like it when the anti-gunners talk about their fantasy of calling the police for assistance should a crisis arise, not realizing that the police will take way too long to show up. I also like when they propose universal background checks to prevent criminals from getting guns.

Anti-gunners seem obsessed with control. Being raised in the belief that big govt will always provide and protect makes them think that way.

The point is simply HARM-REDUCTION, and as usual, the dull-witted gun-people can't think of a single thing that might help reduce the horrendous toll that guns end up taking year after year. It's almost as if they aren't even trying.

'Smart-guns' for instance could be set to allow only a particular person in a particular location to fire them. That would be consistent with an individual right to self-defense within the home while sharply reducing the chances of any number of deadly alternative uses.

Want to guess what will come next here?

I might be for that if done correctly. It has to be more than 1 person as my wife and kids also have to be able to fire my weapons. And, of course, the costs have to reasonable. I'd be willing to go up to an additional $50 a gun for that option.

Forget it. Kids stealing unsecured guns from Daddy and then using them to kill themselves or others are part of the needless harm that sensible people seek to see reduced. If the lady of the house feels she needs a gun as well, pony up and get her a local and personal smart-gun as well.

Remember that a person must be at least 18 years of age to purchase a rifle or shotgun from a licensed firearms dealer, and to purchase a handgun from a licensed firearms dealer, a person must be at least 21 years of age.

I love it when dim wit anti-Civil Rights people think that violence will magically disappear if they outlaw guns. Violence has been a part of the human event since the dawn of time.

The CDC studied Gun Control laws for nearly 15 years and they could not find ANY evidence that Gun Control works to curb VIOLENCE. In order to get science to work in their favor they create nonsense terms to cherry pick data that spins statistics in order to support a false conclusion.

See, that's where you are wrong. Dim Wit Dems don't give a shit about reducing VIOLENCE or solving any problem. Dim Wit Dems only want to push their own agenda through PROPAGANDA.

They create BLM to protest and cause mayhem because less than 1% of Blacks killed are wrongfully killed by police. Yet over 92% of Blacks killed are killed by other Blacks. What do Dim Wit Dems have to say? SILENCE!

Dim Wit Dems solution to suicide is to outlaw guns and all suicides will go away. Australia outlawed nearly all private ownership of guns and in 20 years they experienced no statically significant reduction in suicides overall. In fact in some years suicides actually went up. Hangings replaced guns as the number one method to commit suicide. Guess what, ropes work just as well when someone wants to kill themselves. Rational people want to concentrate on the causes of suicides, but not Dim Wit Dems, gun-control is their answer.

Guns have been in North America for over 400 years, yet school shooting starting 1997 (ironically during the Dim Wit Dems assault weapons band and 7 years after Dim Wit Dems outlawed guns on school property). What is the Dim Wit Dems solution? Guns are causing this, it just took 400 years to sink in.

Childish names are applied to childish posters. There is no defense of continuing gun-related carnage. Those who can’t find the will to help reduce the harm being done are deserving of ridicule.

Well since American schools are by far the safest place children can be maybe you are right. These shootings make the news but the reality is that American kids are safest when they are at school, far safer than at home or anywhere else.

According to the 2016 FBI Uniform Crime Report Violent Crime Table 3:

Washington DC which was ranked as Number 4 for tough Gun Control Laws is ranked as Number 1 in terms of per capita violent Crime,
California Ranked 1 in Gun Control is Ranked 16 for per capita violent crime,
CT ranked 2 for Gun Control is Ranked 47 for per capita violent crime,
Colorado Ranked 3 for Gun Control is ranked 29 for per capita violent crime,
Maryland ranked 5 for Gun Control is ranked 12 for per capita violent crime,
Massachusetts Ranked 6 for Gun Control is ranked 24 for per capita violent crime,
New Jersey ranked 7 for Gun Control is ranked 40 for per capita violent crime,
New York ranked 8 for Gun Control is ranked 25 for per capita violent crime.

It appears that it is all over the map when it comes to per capita violent crime and tough gun control laws. How closely are these two data streams linked to each other? When we compute the correlation coefficient we have 0.047. If the value was between 0.25 and 0.5 we would say that there is a MODERATE correlation between having stronger gun control laws and higher crime (if there was a correlation between LOWER crime and tougher gun control laws it would be between -0.25 and -0.5 for MODERATE linkage). However the number is ALMOST ZERO showing essentially NO LINKAGE or NO CORRELATION between per capita violent crime rates and tough (or loose) gun control laws.

HOWEVER the story doesn't end here, not when one throws racial demographics into the mix...it turns out to be roughly a 0.5 correlation between the per capita violent crime rate and the racial demographics that make up that state. This means without any bias...there is a strong correlation between race and per capita crime rate unlike an almost near non-existent correlation between tough gun control laws and per capita violent crime rates.

Gun owners are experts on fear. They live in fear every single day.

Gun control is just the dems latest version of Jim Crow. It's the dem way to destroy the rights of the individual. When the dems find someone doing something they don't like (blacks voting | gun ownership), and those actions are protected by the constitution (14th | 2nd amendments), the dems impose 'reasonable' restrictions (literacy tests/ poll taxes | licenses / ammo taxes, etc) to interfere with the exercise of those rights.

They call gun owners cowards, but it's gun control that's based on fear, not gun ownership.

At the Burke Safeway in the Glory days shopping center at 11 pm one Friday night back in 2010. Left it in the car as usual but as I was going inside a sketchy looking black guy was sitting on the benches outside. Got a funny feeling so went back to the car to get it. Went into the store, did my midnight shopping and while I was in line and unloading groceries to pay, here he comes walking through my checkout isle backwards toward me. He pushed my cart back while I was behind it and I walked backwards toward the produce section with him still coming at me. I told the cashier to call the police because I was being assaulted, and the checkout guy was like "my phone has no outside line!" So I yelled for him to call the manager (youngish, Mexican looking) who came out and tried to talk to the black guy. The black guy was mumbling incoherently about me 'calling him a nigger' which I said was bullshit. As they were talking then I went back in the checkout isle again to pay (I wasn't going to be intimidated and run out like a bitch). So here he comes again. This time I backed out toward the exit isle and as he still came at me I drew my .38 and told him to get on the ground. The look on his face was terror as he got down. I thought about kicking him in the face as I left, but then the manager started yelling at me to get the hell out of there. I yelled at him 'I told you to call the fucking police!' and he just kept saying 'get out of here'. So I left, but I was shaking all the way home and well into the night as I told my wife what happened.

Gun control

There it is peeps. Right in the title. It's all about control. That's the libtards answer to everything. Let them control it. Control your healthcare. Control you ability to defend yourself. Control your energy. Control your education. Control, control, control. To the libtard, we are all sheep. To be fleeced and eventually slaughtered after contributing to the(ir) greater good.

Don't be a sheeple to the libtards. They can't control their own fucking bowel movements most of the time.

There have been several direct questions asked of the anti gun liberal types here that keep getting ignored. I'm guessing it's because it would involve said liberal actually looking up facts instead of relying on brainwashed emotion.

I don't give a second thought to stopping off at 7-11 to pick up milk or a sandwich at 10:00 at night. You clowns are afraid that MS-13 is lurking out front and just waiting to cut you as you walk by. What was the name of that book by Louisa May Alcott? Oh yeah -- Little Women.

Some questions are just too stupid to bother with. NRA wind-up toys tend to ask a lot of those. So do wannabe tough guys who think a gun turns them into John Wayne or Clint Eastwood. More likely, a gun turns you into worm-food, Pilgrim.

Myth: Citizens are too incompetent to use guns for protection

Fact: About 11% of police shootings kill an innocent person — about 2% of shootings by citizens kill an innocent person. The odds of a defensive gun user killing an innocent person are less than 1 in 26,000 10 despite American citizens using guns to prevent crimes almost 2,500,000 times every year.

Fact: Most firearm accidents are caused by people with various forms of poor self-control. These include alcoholics, people with previous criminal records, people with multiple driving accidents, and people who engage in other risky behaviors. 11

"During 2000--2002, the Task Force on Community Preventive Services (the Task Force), an independent nonfederal task force, conducted a systematic review of scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of firearms laws in preventing violence, including violent crimes, suicide, and unintentional injury. The Task Force found insufficient evidence to determine the effectiveness of any of the firearm laws or combinations of laws reviewed on violent outcomes."

Great pictures of delusional DEMOCRATS looking for their 15 minutes of fame that the GHOULISH PRESS always gives them. So the ONE THING that will work is, STOP GIVING THEM A PLATFORM. Even this last one said he did it so his story would be told.
Not a single thing that Hogg or the Democrats proposed would have made a difference. You want a law that will REALLY WORK?? Forbid the media from printing the murderers name. You can say anything else about them BUT NOT their name. These terrorist are looking for their 15-minutes of fame either to push their agenda or to look for justification for their miserable little lives. Yes, I know there is freedom of the press in this country, but it is not absolute. There are already laws regarding it. If it saves lives, why not give it a try?

Is that what you were doing? You've done more to help our cause by demonstrating the absolute stupidity of the average Democrat. The funniest part, is you don't even realize it.

>It's been a while since we had an AR-15 mass killing. At least one large enough to receive any actual media attention. How long do you think we can go without one?

Its a deadly recent problem in the USA's history over the last 40 years that can be blamed on the decline of morality in the United States with the rise of drug use and liberalism now leftism that's entirely on the backs of Democrats and Hollywood who are primarily responsible

"Mother Jones" a major liberal "source" lists 110 mass killings going back to 1982, the great majority were not killings with "assault weapons" only a few were. There were 90 killings with 3 to 9 dead. 13 killings with 10 to 19 dead and 7 killings with 20 and over dead over the 37 year period . If very killing of less then 10 was counted at 9 each that's 810 . If every killing over 10 to 20 was counted as 19 dead that's 247 . If every killing of 20 over was counted as 30 dead (1 was 34 Va Tech ,1 was 49 Florida nightclub,1 was 58 Las Vegas) that would be 210 dead for a total of 1477 people or an average of 40 people a year.

Every life is important, every dead victim leaves grieving relatives and friends every lost life leaves a hole in the hearts of survivors that is understood by all

The USA had over 250 million people 37 years back and 350 million today, The right to bear arms is a right of freedom and liberty , a cornerstone of the Bill Of Rights and no one ever has said freedom is free, ask vets families who gave their lives or those wounded that came home in pieces.

Over this same period of time 37 years there have been over 1 million one hundred ten thousand people killed in vehicle wrecks in the USA the great majority caused by careless drivers and the number of babies aborted has been in the multiple millions.

How many have died of drug overdose and abuse and the crime that comes with drugs yet the Democrats want all the guns banned in the end while they support letting drug sellers getting out of prisons early, mass abortion of babies now even after birth and they no longer will defend America with no will to keep the drugs the criminals and the illegals out of America. The current needed and resisted "Wall" by Democrats is one prime example.

Where are the Democrats with the reckless, careless drivers with long records of speeding, not paying attention, running red lights or stop signs or causing accidents that should have their licenses taken for life

If any Democrat wants to say there's not 40 people a year that die from criminals that come through the southern border they are despicable liars as that number is far higher then 40 a year.

The presence of people who entered the US is illegal and unconstitutional as the US has laws to allow legal immigration yet Democrats fully support illegals while they keep on with their abortion on demand efforts at any time in the pregnancy and their gun control lies and exaggerations with their attempts to disarm the entire nation

How stupid do you have to be to post a bunch of unverified POSSIBLE negligent discharges where no one died in an attempt to promote gun confiscation. You should just post all the car accidents where no one died because it's just as relevant.

Typically stupid arguments. We have gone to great lengths over the years to improve automobile and highway safety in order to reduce the harm that travel in them might do. We do the same for trucks, trains, boats, and planes. Let's go that same extra mile with guns. We have a whole lot of work to do there.
