Pretty tough to monkey with the tax and tag fees. Those are regulated by the state. However, they will fuck you over at any opportunity on the actual price of the car and BS like dealer prep. To be honest, CARMAX does it right and you can usually find really low milage almost new cars there and avoid the inital depreciation hit you get when you buy a brand new car.
