There are multiple ways to achieve the magic number of government revenue. If the target sum is a fixed number, then the tax rates against number of wage earners and their corresponding wages could be said to be arbitrary, or variable. Perhaps a simple mathematical examination would reveal that a low tax rate against more wage earners making more money would succeed.

Lower federal tax rate for all wage earners and corporations to 10% across the board - raise minimum wage to $20/hr. What do YOU say?

Another straw man from you - they never cease from your types. Cooking is a utility for eating - basic human function, semi-automatic firearms are not. Totally different level of necessity

The basic premise of the pro-gun advocates is that the armed teacher, guard, citizen, etc., would hit their target on the first shot, and actually permanently incapacitate him. FALSE! Collectively that would never happen. They would wind up killing their own students before being shot themselves at a high level of frequency.

Typical NRA claptrap - blame everyone else except themselves. Lapierre constantly using straw men to support his arguments effectively invalidated everything he tried to say. Pretty bad, he's not fooling anyone. Oh, and the whole "I'll do the talking, you do the listening, and nobody ask any questions" was cowardice at its worst. Pathetic.

M-16's, M-4's (a shorter version of the M-16), and AR-15's are primarily semi-automatic firearms. This means that in order for you to fire a round, just pull the trigger. You can fire rounds as quickly as you can pull the trigger - in theory. The M-16 and M-4 have a selector switch with 3 options (safe, semi, burst). Selecting 'Semi' allows for 1 round to be fired with 1 trigger pull. Selecting

The AR-15, which is an M-16 for civilian use, has what is called an 'Effective range' of roughly 550 yards when using the standard high-velocity round. That means if you aim at a target up to 550 yards and pull the trigger, you theoretically have a decent chance of hitting your target. That range can vary less and more by a couple of hundred yards depending on many variables. HOWEVER, these roun

^^^ @GG - I concur, and would offer some additional details: 9. Nationalize firearms retailing solely to a federal agency. Easier to corrupt private retailers. 10. Require regular periodic qualifications for each type of firearm possessed - examination to occur every 2 years. Fail to qualify, government training center retains custody of your weapon for safe keeping while you retrain until qual

Gov. McDonnell wants to discuss it. Okay, what do staff, teachers and principals think about that? Here's a short, incomplete list of questions in relation: 1. What kind of firearm? 2. What condition is the firearm kept - 4, 3, (in some cases 2), 1? 3. Training, licensure? 4. Safe stowage of ammo and weapon? 5. How about athletic coaches, band teachers, etc., during and after school hours? Fee
