If this teacher didn't want to be judged as a non professional, then she should behave and dress appropriately for her position.

Quantum I don't know if you saw my post to you in the other thread. Congratulations to your daughter! I know you must be very proud. Her achievement may also save you a buck or two in college! Congrats to her, and her parents too.

Blame the Principal. She should have told this young teacher that a tongue stud is NOT appropriate in a school, or any other professional job. I saw a waiter at Clyde's fired, in mid lunch rush, for wearing a stud in his tongue. Surely we can expect as much from our teachers as is expected of waiters. If teachers want to be regarded as professionals, they have to learn to act like professi

Gerry Connelly has made it quite clear that he doesn't care about illegal immigration. Fairfax county is a safe haven, unlike Prince William, which is why FC public schools gained 1,200 new students last year who were fleeing Prince William county. The only way to change this is to throw out Gerry Connelly and the other democrats on the board of supervisors who support it.

Nothing will change as long as people in the county continue to vote for any democrat who appears on their ballot. Until voters care more about their taxes and their schools, the bums will continue to be in charge and will continue to do whatever they want to do with our kids and our schools.

>>>Is there a systematic program which compares the effectiveness of the educational programs county-wide.<<< No. Why would staff want something like that? Even if they had it, what good would it do? No one can tell a principal what program to use. Every principal wants to decide which programs they will use, which courses they will offer, etc. Principals decide what progr

I love the town of Vienna services, including the police. On the two occasions, in 20 years, that I need the police, they were at my door in less than 90 seconds. Would I get that kind of service from the county police? I think not. When it snows, my street is cleared within hours, not days like my friends in Oakton. When we have a bad storm, we only need to take the downed limbs and leaves

Borders and the other bookstores hire lots of high school students. Sports authority too. Within the next two weeks all the college kids will be going back to school so the stores will be looking to hire.

Did you hear the great music tonight in the new town park on 123? Great fun and some good Johnny Cash! What businesses do we need? With three malls within a few miles of the town, what else do we need? We've got Whole Foods, Giant, Safeway, Magruders, a great toy store, great ice cream stores, and 60 restaurants. I suppose we could use more decorating and antique stores. They're fun.
