The 1978 movie had the self-doubt, what is my purpose, Jesus stuff to a certain degree, but Richard Donner remembered to make it a fun, action-packed movie. The Bryan Singer movie dwelled more on the Jesus theme but pretty much sucked in general. I don't think the Dark Knight treatment of Superman is going to work. I think it should be a more upbeat movie.
