Nobody was complaining about Title 1 schools, just stating facts. If the Title 1 schools need the additional funding, so be it. That was the school mentioned in the above post, so that was the school I cited the facts for. But, not all of the schools with much higher per student costs are Title 1 schools. FCPS can claim the student population at CES was declining all it wants, it's simply n

Garfield has been renovated twice in the last 25-30 years. The difference is that Garfield is a Title 1 school and therefore receives additional funding. Garfield also has one of the highest per student renovation cost in the county at nearly $60,000 per student. CES on the other hand had one of the lowest per student cost to renovate at nearly $36,000 per student. The spin by FCPS is bla

oh, you mean the thread that was started after Bradsher stabbed Clifton in the back? That thread? Please do dig it up. It shows the hateful and shameful way she treated Clifton behind the scenes. There's an old saying - lead by example. Well, she led the example, not us.

Hey Liz, Fiscal sense - blah, blah, blah. We have yet to see the proof of this "fiscal sense" or the imagined savings. We've moved on, our kids have moved on, and now they are faced with activities at their new schools that they can't participate in because there are simply too many kids, with too little space, to allow EVERYONE to participate or certain activities just never happen at all.

LOLLOLLOLLOLLOL!!!!!!...need to catch my breath....BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAAAAAHAHHAAA!! That's the best laugh I've had in a while! Thank you, OP, for the public service of providing everyone with a laugh. As for Bradsher, eh, it's a waste of breath at this point. Good riddance to the SOCO bitch, a name earned long before Clifton ever heard of her. Nov. 8th is how many days away?

Sounds like a disgruntled employee trying to seek revenge. Yeah, that always works out. Total Framing has been in business for what, 30+ years if you include when they were Total Crafts in Burke? Somehow I don't think "A-guy" spewing nonsense is going to do them any harm. They have a loyal following of customers. A-Guy would be better off spending his time taking some ESOL classes to impro

Accotink Academy Alternative School is a privately owned school, not county funded at all. The kids from DC that attend it do so on vouchers from DCPS, not FCPS. Fairfax County has absolutely nothing to do with Accotink Academy alternative school.

The Child Enrichment Program at Messiah Methodist, and Accotink Academy Pre-school (in the same building) are both outstanding! All 3 of my kids went to CEP, and then Accotink. I can't speak highly enough of both schools. I've also heard really wonderful things about Prince of Peace, next to Giant. Accotink Academy pre-school requires them to be 3 and potty-trained, so I would start at the

A toll to use Clifton as a cut through would be priceless! As a former cut through commuter,I can honestly say it wouldn't have stopped me since the drive through Clifton was so much easier/nicer than any other route I could have chosen. According to VDOT, 10,000 cars drive through Clifton each day, most are commuters cutting through. $1 each way? Get that plaza up! The pool could be rea

Yes, it arrived back in Clifton today. From what I understand, Friendly's was not happy and threatened to sue if they didn't move it. Not worth going to court over, so they moved it back. Really shitty of Friendly's if that's the case, IMO. If they can't handle the competition, they need to improve their business.

WSHS certainly has changed since I was there 20+ years ago! Way to go! The judges loved them. Hope they make it to the final show. Hey, maybe if they win, FCPS will finally see fit to renovating the school! http://www.nbc.com/americas-got-talent/video/west-springfield-dance-team-takes-the-stage/1346154#.TkJxqfRuJEA.facebook
