Some observations about Monday's show:
If anyone should be insulted by Bill's comments, it should be the producers of SCTV. They spent real money on lighting, cameras, crew, etc. Mike hasn't spent dick.
Imagine if Todd had done the interview at the TMOS Florida studio, complete with barking dogs, crying baby, and shit from several species ground into the carpet.
Mike's main regret over the years is not tearing Bill a new one in one of Mike's infamous hard hitting interviews. No wonder Robb has trouble booking guests: George Will is avoiding Robb's calls like the plague so he won't get eviscerated by the Master Debater.
IIRC, the only hard hitting interviews conducted during the D&M days were generally ambushes against "little people." I recall Don cold calling and blind siding the composer of a new Redskins song. The interview deteriorated into Don calling her the C-word. Not exactly the Lincoln-Douglas debates.
Later, Mike admitted that he was too ignorant to produce a political debate-type podcast. Just like his peer, David Letterman has admitted. Because Mike and Dave are essentially twin sons of different mothers.
And, of course, the crew gave away the ending to the Girls finale, since it had aired almost 24 hrs earlier. The concept of "spoiler alert" is as foreign to them as "portion control."

I still say Patton O outstrips Todd, O'Meara and Williams combined, so no resting on laurels just yet.
And I enjoyed Mike saying they had a meeting a week or two ago re. getting more guests. As if that's not something we all here have been suggesting they do for more than a year, while the Klub screams, "It's perfect the way it is -- don't change a thing!"

One of the big selling points for the DC location was the ability to have in-studio guests. How many guests, in-studio or on the phone, did they have last year? 4? Fatt Rob only started doing his supposed "job" once the intern set up a few calls. They still can't interview their way out of a paper bag. Spewak has looked into it -- Sly Stallone, Shirley MacLaine (and her famous little brother) and Goldie Hawn are way way too old, Katie Couric has bad memories, and Sandra Bullock's people won't return calls (she's too old, as well). Spewak therefore has his hopes set on JC Chasez. Fingers crossed!

Of the billions of flights that have occurred, here is one instance when a pilot goes to the lav to take a piss and is locked out of the cabin. So Mike's answer is to have pilots piss in a bottle or shit in a box. I'm fairly certain pilots are allowed by law to take a shit in a real facility. What happened was so random there's no reason to resort to the ridiculous.
