Slap in fatso's face yesterday when Geronimo was on 106.7 for over 20 minutes. Studio to studio simulcast. Damn, Geronimo sounded funny and allright again. The fact he was on JFK had to KILL O'Meara and his enlarged ego.
Especially when Chad was saying no offense to Mike, but it was a thrill to have Don back on.
And PS, Geronimo killed it.
And somewhere else, O'Meara drank and ate, then yelled at people.

Perhaps Mikey should have shown ol' Don a little more courtesy lately...

When Don had his accident, Mike didn't even offer a word of sympathy, until his website and fb page was flooded with negative comments about it (that were hastily expunged). Then, when Tom Gavin calls about Don's brother [in-law] Mike quickly offers his condolences, in fear of another listener mutiny.

In his haste, Mike neglects to verify the information. Mike also assumes that Jim Source (Don's adopted brother) has passed. He also mentions that Jim had "been sick for a while now", which is code for "he was a junkie" (not of the sports variety). I'm sure this really made Don happy to hear (if he even heard it).

So it's really quid pro quo in this instance.

Quite sure they are all still steaming that Don was great on JFK the other day.
Maybe Don can joke about Mike's painful attempts at a career.

They are angry at Don because he stopped carrying them. Most mature individuals get over that shit and move on. It's called being a profesional. Instead these idiots are trying to re-live the past and spend time licking each other's festering wounds. It's time for them to get over it. Don isn't coming back, and what they are doing isn't working.

Ok, now that you mention it, I do recall something like that. Guess I wasn't paying close enough attention....which isn't surprising considering how bad the show has been lately.

Yesterday, they spent most of the time reading listener mail. It seems like they are putting no effort at all into the podcast these days. Don't even bother to listen unless you are REALLY bored.

The MOMS failcast crew has zero class. I have heard Mike's name mentioned by callers on Don's show many times and while he gets sick of it, he has always been complimentary and supportive of the old show and their new efforts. Too bad they can not say the same.
I guess they are all mad that Freida died and changed Don's plans.
Now Don is back on the radio with CBS, and having great success.
I heard him say on WJFK that in four months his show has gone from 23rd to 4th in the ratings. Mike must puke a bit every time he heard this.

Mike doesn't have the #1 comedy podcast. Adam Carolla does. Mike's is typically between 50th and 100th place. You can't believe what Mike says, because he is trying to bullshit clueless businesses into advertising to his "3 million listeners."

The fact that Don took an AM-er to 4th place in the market is an even greater testament to his abilities. Mike took a 17th place Morning Drive program and drove it to 23rd Place. He is radio cancer.

Robb better find some royalty-free bumper music and quit playing audio clips from movies and tv if this passes.

He should really be doing that right now come to think of it.

Does Mike still read that hypocritical copyright warning at the end of his podcast anymore?
He feels he can steal audio clips from every legitimate artist out there without paying a damn thing or getting permission. But if anybody lifts clips from the failcast, they need written permission from him. Yeeeeeaaaaaaaaaa riiiiiiiiiiggggghhhht.

Sorry Mike, but I don't think you have to worry about anybody out there stealing clips from your pretend show and its Fisher-Price radio studio.

Buzz is an old, unoriginal, boring bitch who has to steal his "news" content from Fark.com.

Hell, Buzz didn't even come up with his radio name. Don is the one who came up with Buzz Burbank. It's like naming a dog, which is fitting since Buzz has always been Don's little bitch.

Take a look at the failcast web site...

It's just odd, I mean who are these people that think Buzz is funny? Maybe they are librarians, or researchers or perhaps they have mild brain damage. I really don't find Buzz any more funny than the guy in the mail room who always has a joke for me when I stop by. Actually, he's funnier than Buzz. My point is that Buzz may come up with a joke now and then, but I certainly wouldn't consider him a career funny man.

The sad part of it all, is that Buzz has been immersed in the MOM circle jerk for so long he really is starting to think his shit doesn't stink. In the world of TMOS everyone is a professional DJ/comedian, the "show" is doing great, the "fans" are plentiful and success is the swelling tidal wave they are currently riding all the way to the bank. This is why any chink in this emotional armor is so devastating to them, especially to Mike.

"Buzz is a very funny man."

...followed by a succession of "I agree's". Just reading the posts you can tell that the MOMS site has been monitored to death, (clearly by Robb). As if filtering posts to show only the positive comments will affect the ACTUAL popularity of a show. Look at Adam Carolla's site: there's hundreds of comments for each episode, and many of them are equally as negative towards Adam and co. as the stuff here is to Mike, but has this affected Adam's position at the top in any way? Negative.

Buzz isn't funny. The only time Buzz was funny on D&M was when Don would make him do something that was out of his comfort zone, which was a funny situation but wasn't really a result of Buzz being funny.

I looked at it. There hasn't been much change in the last 4 months or so has there? MOM regular shows are getting an average of maybe 18 comments on their board and the bonus shows consistently get about 4. Of course I know his "money demo" is I-Tunes Comedy. What a farce.

Also the fact that it's pretty much the SAME people making comments on their messageboard after each show says a lot.

It's quite a good indicator of how many people are NOT listening.

This ad is funnier than anything Mike could write. The sad truth is anyone could take this job, EXCEPT MIKE! After the first couple of books (if this station even appears on them) Mike would be canned.

This is basically like leased time, except the station takes your ad revenue rather than the individual pay a fee. This is good for a young, broke DJ that can't find a job elsewhere and wants to maintain a presence on the radio. Mostly a lose-lose situation for the talent. Could you imagine being cold-called by a DJ asking you to advertise on his show?

Of course if Mike truly believed in himself and his program, he would have bought leased time for TMOS on one of the locals around here. If the interest, listenership and advertisers truly were as Mike describes them, he would be rolling in dough right now. The Greaseman did this for a while before his FL gig.

I really wonder what Mike's next gig will be after VRX, how low will he stoop?

I would take that as a cue to let the house go back to the bank and leave the area and find a gig in some lower-tier market.

Well, even though it's a country AM station, it speaks to the value of on-air talent in the current radio environment.

MOM ain't pulling in anything close to his heyday 80's/90's/early '00 D&M money at VRX and that's the best gig he could get in DC.

CBS can't be happy with this: 19) WVRX [K&M 21st], ... 21) WJFK [Junks 15th, Wise 20th, Arrington 20th], and the Junks will likely be feeling the impact.

Mike and company thought they were the Beatles and that they lost their Paul McCartney (Don). Turns out Don was Paul McCartney, but Mike and company were Wings.

Don is Don - love him or hate him, he just keeps on succeeding in radio.

MOM is the guy who used to be in Wham! with George Michael.

At this point Andrew Ridgeley and MOM have about the same standing the in the 'ol show business.

There is a bit of a difference...

Ridgely was once an international recording artist, he toured the world back in the '80s. Mike was second banana on a syndicated radio show.

Although, they have both had George Michael's dick in their mouths.

Well even D&M got to be pretty boring in the last 2-3 years. I guess I listened too long. As for Mike and Dons show in their current form regardless of ratings, I only listen to them at work because I am bored to tears. Nine times out of ten I opt for mikes show, don's is really boring.

Radio as we know it is pretty much dead. Good riddance, there are plenty of other ways to get entertainment now with broadband, to many choices and this radio format is pretty worn out and just no fresh nor imaginative.

I love these posts. Well, D&M sucked during the last few years and Don's show really sucks now but Mike's is listenable.

Interesting statement, "radio is dead"...

Radio is a medium, just like the others out there (i.e. TV, interwebs, etc.). Yes radio programing on most major radio groups is safe, researched, voicetracked, tripe, but there's still talent out there. Of course if you are a hack DJ that rode on someone's coattails for 20+ years, and now realize that you have no actual talent to speak of, yes radio is dead (for you).

"radio is dead," while "podcasting was never alive." For most, anyway.

Good for Don. I would be pretty pissed too if a former colleague ended up making a joke like that after I was in ICU at the hospital with a neckbrace and a head full of Swingline staples.

On the copyright front, I wonder if Don got "written permission from a representative of The Mike O'Meara Show" to play that clip? lol. Mike can go fuck himself and his little gay copyright disclaimers.

Buzz Burbank's "dry humor" is what people like fucktird Bill Stevens are after.. I guess.

I don't remember Don making jokes about Buzz after he blew the fuck out of his lower bowel. I remember Don using the sound board making it seem like Buzz was still in studio during his absence even to the point of fooling Tom Gavin. Don waited until Buzz was almost completely recovered when (at Buzz's discretion) he let Buzz come on and relate details about his brush with death.

I didn't think it was possible for the MOM crew to give me reason to disrespect them on a deeper level than already attained. But they have.

http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2010/11/23/the-don-geronimo-show-november-23-2010/

Mike is far too insecure to ever play anything of Don's on his show. He couldn't even process Buzz's 'joke' cause he gets all flustered any time Don is even remotely mentioned. I think deep down he knows that Don's departure revealed his true talentless hackiness to the world.

Don treated them the way they deserve. No mention, a quick toss away. I know that I emailed his show last week after Buzz got funny. Glad they found the clip. Anyone who is pissed Don played it should be pissed at Mike & Co. Still have not heard Don say anything remotely bad about the old D&M show. Today was the closets he got, and it was there and gone, like Mike's career.

I don't think anyone could be mad at Don...except for MOM and company for being exposed. Remember what Don did to Rosenberg when he set his sights on him? Don is the only success CBS can point to right now. If he goes into syndication and pulls other stations in other markets out of the muck, including WJFK, MOM and company are going to want a friend like that. Unfortunately, they are doing their best to fuck it up.

So they're not fraudulent, just incompetent.

Thanks Evan, how's that bike doing?

A rather eclectic combination of products that you sell; Mangrates and the computer carts. Care to expand your offerings? I have this idea for a "wand" of sorts, that allows people of larger carriage to be able to "maintain proper hygiene" during a bathroom visit. I have made several prototypes and I'm currently conducting research at local Walmart restrooms for revision 2.0 of my device.

I sure could use your marketing and fulfillment, how about we partner up?

Gotta love the way Don says: "...no, that didn't make me laugh".

O'Meara's crew is pretty fucked up. Burning bridges with someone who could help them in radio is beyond self distructive. MOM is probably beyond help, but Rob(b) and Oscar could use a push in their careers.

On the other hand, Don probably knows what he's dealing with and MOM, Rob(b) and Buzz are a bunch of no talents - finished in terms of building careers in radio.

Buzz has got to have a set of balls. He disrespects Don openly, and what has his career evolved to? Mc'ing sad gigs for O'Meara's band, NLP?

Buzz should try to have that YouTube clip where he introduces the band pulled. The fact that he would take time out of his day to scream "MIKE O'MEARA SHOW dot COM" is really pathetic.

I think Don and Mike are probably both egotistical and unbearable behind the scenes. The difference is Don has talent and is either professional enough or savvy enough not to do what Buzz did with his comment or what Mike did by not responding to Don's initial accident.

Very true. When you have ratings and the ad money was rolling in for D&M most of their tenure, CBS looked the other way when Don went into "Diva" mode and refused to show up to work or berated management on air.

O'Meara was given a pass for showing up to work drunk/hung over and allowed to treat everyone like shit.

Ratings and $$$ excuse just about everything in radio.

But times change, Don adapted to the new world, started over and O'Meara and his toadies have just slid further into obsurity.

And I could care less about MOM's job at VRX, it's a shit gig, he's not generating any numbers and Citadel will probably figure out they can save whatever they are paying MOM by just letting a laptop program am drive time.

Actually I think Donnie G. got the idea for giving Mike The Gnome" Elston the moniker of Buzz from Steve Dahl. Who had a newsmun on his show with name of Buzz. Donnie G. has acknowledged his fandom of Mr. Dahl. Unforunately, I find Mr. Dahl's current podcasts a bit of a borefest. I guess he peaked a few years back.

You would think so, but no. We have the 1 year anniversary of the failcast to celebrate. Remember when they had only one affiliate? Remember when they had only 15,000 listeners? Remember when they relied on plastic surgeons to advertise?

Oh, and about a month after that we should have Mike's firing from The Edge to discuss.
