LFF provide insurance? We know that's laughable, given how much he bitches about paying his own insurance. And I'm loathe to take LFF's side on anything, but LPS works how many hours a week? Maybe 10? (80 min./6 shows =8 hrs, plus downloading Youtube clips and other misc tasks). I'd be damned if I'd fork over insurance $ for such a part-timer.

Oh come on. He's so proud (yeah, he really said that) that he played music under his yakking. To his credit, he managed to resist the urge to play Helen Wheels and went with something you would expect to hear at a "sports game."

LFF thinks the core of the earth is solid rock and the mantle is the hottest layer. Don't they cover that in children's cartoons?

The Redskins have a better chance at beating the Patriots 49-0 this weekend than Robb and Cary finding FT employment anytime soon.

I own a small business in MD. The state dictates that we get the same rates as a large corporation. It is fair pricing for Carefirst PPO or HMU. All they would have to do is move up 355. But, I guess I don't have a MBA....

I think after the Oscar, Mike, BOAD triangle last week-Oscar decided that the "ball busting" helps ratings. That's why he insulted Mike's intelligence on Mike's Facebook rants and went after Robb so hard on his weight and eating all of the Halloween candy. Unless it is truly a bit(which it may be-because of ratings beliefs), Mike or Robb may truly lose it. Robb almost did with the world's laziest and most cliché comeback(the "fuck you, oscar"). Carla was also witty enough to pull that off in her prior tiff with oscar. She does have the comedy gene, though. It's a good thing we are in the hands of broadcast professionals.

I love how Oscar proves that he dosen't have a plan, much less a clue. Just make quick reactions to what seems to be getting attention at the momment.
I often picture Carla; sitting in the dark wearing an old cheerleader uniform, glass of bottom shelf scotch on the rocks in one hand, generic 100's length cigarette in the other. She stares blankly out of the window into the dimly lit apartment complex parking lot below. "Why didn't I marry some up and coming IT guy closer to my age?" She laments to herself, as another swig of rotgut dulls the angst rising again in her heart.

Do you think she expected Mike to still be alive a few years after junior was born?

She could have had life insurance cash and mortgage paid on the VA house and live nicely.

But now is stuck in FL and ME with two babies to watch over.

I listen to a podcast called "Don Tony and Kevin Castle show" that runs for about

two hours once a week and has almost no advertisers.

The hosts set up an LLC for their podcast and their insurance is cheaper than the

TMOS #1403:

During LFF's news bit, he mentions a poll (of course) -- Drunkest NFL Fans. He expresses surprise that Raiders fans did not make the Top 10 (due to insufficient data). He says "if there was enough data, the Raiders would be up there, I would think." To which LPS chimes in, "yeah, I would think so."

As if LPS has a fucking clue about the behavior of ANY NFL database (save for the Redskins, which he knows from his brief, infamous stint as the on-field announcer, when he used his Peter Brady voice to introduce the players).

LPS has a Pavlovian response to mutter anything after any LFF statement. Yeah, sure, uh-huh, of course, you're right, I would think so, etc, etc.

And that fucker dares to poke fun at jive DJs from small markets. He can't vomit into his apnea mask fast enough for me.

Do you think she expects Mike to actually have all his ducks in a row concerning his post-mortum affairs for her and her son's futures? I'll bet her dingy ass thinks that life insurance is something the government gives you and the money appears magically after someone dies, or they show up to your door with a giant check like Publisher's Clearinghouse. She should be on the phone with Colonial Penn the next chance she gets.
No doubt she will be able to bounce back quickly by finding some other fat drunk with a bankroll to latch on to after fatboy shits the bed. Best she try to maintain her looks and figure though. I feel sorry the most for Mike's other kids.

Robb is proud that he can announce a high school football game...
let's let that roll over the brain a bit...

Actually I think you're supposed to work from announcing high school events to working in professional broadcasting. ...

But that's just me.

And reading the post way above, if Oscar thinks drama is going to boost ratings, he should get back on the radio because pods don't get ratings and KCJJ is a cornfield with a stick.

My current favorite commercial read is the one for VistaPrint. FDB really tries to sell it, like stuffing a pocket full of business cards and bothering people at the barbershop with them is going to be the high point of his day. That's actually progress because usually Carla had to carry them in her purse for him.

Can you imagine being on the receiving end of that? Why the fuck would anyone want his business card? I only give one or kick myself for not having one if there's some small chance of doing business with the person or their organzation.

I'd love to hear him tell a story about the time when someone declined his business card. That would be good radio.

Anyone else get the feeling these Oscarless Fridays are a dry rehearsal for the inevitable split? Mike made a comment about halfway through Friday's show about not missing Oscar up until a certain point when Spewak's banality finally ground the show to a halt. After he had mined the JV announcer gig for all the content he could and then another 5 minutes.

Dammit, now you're tempting me to finish the episode. I had to turn it off when they started plotting a way for Eightt to get the Varsity announcer gig next year. It was just too pathetic. I was thinking how I just might have to skip Friday shows since the only reason to listen these days is to hear Oscar bust their balls hard. If this is preparing for the day when it's just the two of them, I'm out.

Forget the podcasting part. Think of being at Thanksgiving with a 40-something man-child loser family member or family friend. Why on earth would anyone download that garbage and listen to it?

Keep in mind that back in those days, before the money started flowing in from Saudi Arms dealer Adnan Kashoggi, AU was a safety school. Fuckwaddle had to go somewhere else for two years first so ponder that here on the Mucus Factor.

Things were different then, college was affordable... you could apply to U of MD in August and start in September. Nowadays you better have your shit semi-together and it's hella expensive, no more paying your way by working.

Also remember, LFF's best subject (since he obviously was no science major) was English. He "was a decent writer". From a shit-stain who has Fatt Rob write all his show copy and spends hours crafting a terrible Facebook post or "sincere" serious show opening that still sound like an 8th grader's social studies report.

AU was a safety school back in LFF's day. Check out the stats from the O'Meara years. Seven out of 10 applicants got in. It made VCU look like Harvard. Key table in this PDF is on page 55 -- the profile of applicants for the freshman class. We can safely assume that transfers had an even easier time getting in. Also, look at the SAT scores (page 56) of incoming freshman. Even taking into account that SAT scores today are higher on average, the AU freshman scores for that time were shit.

Therefore, Mike, you can take that AU diploma and wipe your ass with it. Save yourself some money by not using the more valuable toilet paper.

If Davey was still in the Navy in the late 1970s, he probably served for 20 years, retiring with full benefits in the 1990s younger than Robb is today. He probably then went on to get a civil service job. He's now a retired grandfather with a loving family that appreciates the fact he worked so hard for them.

Robb thinks all of this is funny because the concepts are so foreign to him.

i thought the same thing. In fact he's sitting back telling his wife the job's too dangerous.

I loved Robb narrating that clip of the Uber driver getting roughed up BTW. He says "the guy's drunk" "here he leans forward" and you could tell from Mike's comments he could not see it either. Oscar says "did he hit him?" And an intern has to add the fact the fratboy was an exec at Taco Bell. Good Audio Vault, 8!

Eightt won't aspire to the varsity announcer gig because he won't be able to play music during the breaks (and at halftime). At varsity games, the marching band plays. In Eightt's sorry world, doing the JV games is an excuse to be a music DJ for increments of 2-3 minutes (and oh boy before the game and for 15 minutes at halftime!). How long before we hear that he's been applying for the DJ gig at school dances?

He has answered this multiple times.

"All the characters in that song were real people," Joel told a Harvard audience in 1994. "John at the bar was this guy named John — and he was at the bar," he added, pausing for the crowd to chuckle at the exactness of his verisimilitude. "Davy was in the Navy… and probably still is," Joel pointed out, shooting down theories that he renamed the character just to rhyme with a branch of the armed forces.

The Link above has an embedded video of the talk he gave, it's generally pretty great.
