Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Thanks fellas for explaining the network idea. I see that it would save Don some steps and hassle. I doubt the 40K Mike claims off his 'network.' I mean, I listen to Carolla every day and I have yet to buy anything from Amazon through his link. And I buy things fairly often. Just never think of it.

Mine was actually congratulatory so they shouldn't block me. I do use the same name here and there though, so Rob will know.

What part of the show? The poorly rehearsed vignette? The fucked out clip Robb plays in the opening? The half scanned articles that Mike mumbles through and calls a news cast? the youtube VIDEO clips that Robb plays the audio of? the lame ass birthday segment or Mike's political rants?

I see the trolls are stepping up their game with the devastating news that DonniG may very well be heading to RELM - if for no other reason than to use their existing network.
I think DonG has the name recognition to stand on his own, but I imagine setting up your own website, distribution, etc is just more work than he's willing to do. At any rate, this is huge for RELM. Don may put M&L on his back and take them to success.
I can't wait, personally. I really enjoyed Drew Hoffar as Don's co-host, and having Buzz and Don together again will be great. Hearing Slo Joe do the intro (surely they will do that) will be quite awesome.
No word on why Phantom and Craig didn't get brought along, but I guess the more people involved the more you have to split the profits.
On the subject of Cake and Cookies, good on them for their initial success. Apparently there's an audience. I choose not to listen though, because I find Robbbbb a drain on whatever show he's on. I can't imagine one where he's given a platform to run his mouth.
It will be interesting to see the meltdown as a result of DonG going to RELM and Robb having some measure of success. Pork chop in one hand, suitcase in the other.
More really could've been something. A strong regional podcasting network with national reach, thanks to old syndication fans. By the way, Buzz and Marc sure sounded like they felt some type of way about More finally adding shows. They protest too much when they insist there's no hard feelings.

Hand to God, the image of LFF chucking a slab of meat in JarJar's face and taking a chomp out of a Samsonite basically literally makes me unhinge my jaw.

It's Fat Drunk Ignorant Bastard for an old (allegedly) Irish blessing: "May you be in heaven a full half-hour before the Devil knows you're dead." As usual, he gets it wrong.
LFF dropping the food and then yelling at Oscar about he can't eat over the plate since his belly is so fat was good stuff.
LFF talking about eating full meals in bed was even better. Loving the part where Oscar and even Robb state that neither eat in bed. LFF was pissed - that part was funny.

Yep. And, grammatical errors aside, he didn't even get the traditional saying right. It's "may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead."
Not "may you be halfway to heaven before the devil know (sic) your (sic) dead".
The latter doesn't even make sense. Well, to a brain that's not sogged in alcohol.
It's obvious. They are afraid Mike will block them if he gets corrected.

Ya know, Cake and Cookies is pretty good. No fake cackling, Katie's voice is cute, no Full Mike, hence no Stockholm Syndrome effect. The latest show kept my interest, anyway. Only one I've listened to so far. Robb may have found his raison d'être.

Did anyone else think that today's MOM podcast was recorded on Sunday at the new DC Studio, and not today? The #1 reason for me is the fact that there was no mention upfront of the big snowstorm that hit DC Sunday night and Mon morning or about anyone's horrible commute to the studio. Also, around the 20 min mark, Robb decides to yell out an open window several things to the street below including the time being 4:32! Why hide that it was pre-recorded this time?

I was just thankful Non-Committal didn't open the show, but i did think it was odd that they didn't mention the snow...

Even more humorous is that the comedian audio clip at the start of today's show actually used the correct quote. I guess that's where Mike got it from for his post this morning, he just needs to listen harder next time.

I have no idea why they try to hide these things. They are not nearly careful enough to lie without someone knowing about it. It would have been a lot better for the group waiting in the chat room if they had let them know not to bother waiting around for a video stream. Of course there are a lot of true believers in there too, they wouldn't even acknowledge that the TMOS FB page announced that the new episode had posted already, even though it hadn't.
The deconstruction of "Pony's themes" was riveting...I longed for the "Frankie won't stop shitting the studio" segments...Robb really is radio cancer...

Transparency? I don't understand why they fuck over the chatroom members all the time...Can't they just make an announcement on FB and link their twitter to it? Try harder my ass...they don't try at all...
Also right before that, Oscar tells him it's ok today, but they can't do it during business hours. Mike tries to cover the 4:32 reference with "432 WAVA.." in his DJ impression.

Rob: I believe today is is the Jewish holiday of Purim.
Mike: Why are you talking about Purim on St. Patrick's Day?
Purim was yesterday, the 16th so Rob was right.
The worst thing about the way they act about these recorded shows is that the one time they announced they had done the show Sunday, they got a lot of appreciation for the effort from their fans. It just makes no sense to go back to trying to hide it.

How bad does it hurt Robb to not be on Don G's podcast? I remember in the old days Don and Robb used to be very close. I don't know the rest of their history.
I see that several folks have said Cakes & Cookies is ok so I'll give it a shot. Tech411 might be the worse podcast around so anything is better than that crap. Oscar tech guru.

For quite some time now, i have been sort of casually looking for/wondering about the place where people can speak freely about TMOS... I swear I heard a chorus of angels when i finally stumbled upon it, as pathetic as that sounds...I *knew* I couldn't be the only one who thought O'Meara sounded like a borderline illiterate, obnoxious manchild WELL over half the time. I was starting to feel like I was taking crazy pills because the facebook page and the comments on the webpage are so lamely sanitized.
I've been listening forever, but ditto whoever said that it's not a podcast one would EVER recommend to a friend. Embarassing.
This is awesome, you guys are my people. Carry on.

Because no one wants to pay for it. Hence the desperate 'Please PLEASE buy our bonus show package!' e-mail that went out around Valentine's Day and, as someone here speculated, the old similarly-flavored messages that Pony 'found' and sent a couple weeks ago. The bonus shows are the same dull, aimless dreck as the regular show. Just with more swears.
Question - If these guys did anything you didn't like, would you even say so? Remember. Mike can't block you here.

Great question Don Fam. I wish nothing but the best. From reading this thread it seems as though they are putting out a "great" product.
However, I will discuss the final months and days that lead up to me leaving the old show on my first podcast. It will be a no holds barred show and I will be taking listener calls/ questions. I will be Tweeting out the phone number and times to call as we get closer to the first show.

THis 'catch phrase' is probably one of the most awful ones in the history of catch phrases. No shit they can hear it, if you can be fucked to go looking for it. You certainly won't hear it on the radio, except for that weak station in the cornfields of Iowa.
Perhaps you can engage in dialogue with us concerning your love for this dreck rather than just coming on here and spitting empty lines.
- Posters pretending to be one of the D&M or TMOS personalities.
- A true, "culty" TMOS fan being able to defend the show without sounding childish.
- Accusations that a certain poster is Robb.

They aren't just alike, it's the same guy again. He just hasn't figured out how to write in different styles for each account. I'm guessing his college education didn't include much English.
