Intersting places to visit in Road Island?
Posted by: Travelling Man ()
Date: February 22, 2012 09:42AM

I have to travel up to Road Island in a couple of weeks for a weeklong work event. Are there any interesting places to visit there? I know it is a state filled with liberal pukes, but there must be some places that are historically or culturally significant without being too politically correct. Thanks for all your help!

Are you talking about the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations?

I've never been to Road Island, so I don't know about Providene Plantations. I will be sure to google it and look it up. Thanks for the advice. Are you from Road Island?

Sorry, dipshit, I read on the Vice President's website the other day that he was making a visit to Road Island. I think the VP's office knows how to spell it better than some doofus on a message board!

Nope, wrong again. The VP's office put out a press release and said he was visiting Road Island. Let's see, who should I trust, some random idiot on the internet or the Vice President's office? hmmmm.

Thanks, but looking at their schedule, it looks like they will be in Florida, not Road Island that week.

That is a good suggestion though, I will look and see what other live acts are playing in Road Island that week.

I'm not sure which is more amusing? The fact that Biden's PI person cannot spell or since you bought into it, you have a job, much less a job that requires travel.

I find it amusing that you think Biden has a Private Investigator person.

Are you seriously contending that someone in the White House is that stupid to mispell a state? Or, is it possible you are wrong? Would you have us believe that someone who has been vetted through the rigorous screening process just to get an foot in the door at the White House is more likely to misspell a state's name than some random troll on the internet? If what you are saying is true, then Joe Biden and the White House personnel office must hire the dumbest people in America.

You must be a troll, because no one's this stupid. Clearly, the poster meant "PR", as in public relations.

No, he didn't hire you. Would you by any chance be one of our fine public servants?

I second the Great White concert (as long as it's held in a flammable venue).

By the way, here's a link to Biden's office's gaffe:

One of the most interesting places to visit in Road Island is Rhode Island.

Are you telling me that Joe "Foot in his mouth" Biden hires people even more retarded than he is? Knowing that, I assume you are sending your resume off to his office now.

The Vice President's office released a statement making the claim a computer spellchecker changed the name.

I believe them. No harm no foul.

Get back to the calling the Chris Plante show and talking about the idiots on the left. I enjoy boneheads on the right, that can't think things through, bitching about well thought out things liberals do.

The Vice President's office is a "who?"

At least the VP's press release was coherent with well structured sentences.

The word Rhode survives any computer spell checker. All of them. Not a single spell check device underlines it or changes it.

> I believe them. No harm no foul.

You aren't too bright for believing them. As mentioned above, the word Rhode is never altered by spell check. Try it yourself if you don't believe me. You must be a product of the FCPS.

> Get back to the calling the Chris Plante show and

I didn't know who Chris Plante was until I googled it 30 seconds ago. I don't need to talk about idiots on the left, they are more than capable of proving their idiocy. First case in point, see the VPs press release. Second case in point, see your belief and reliance upon an implausible excuse from his office.

I enjoy boneheads on the left that believe what they are told to believe. Better catch some more Air America Radio, you neve know how long that dud will last. Better yet, check out Olbermann on Current TV, his implosion is already beginning.

Googling for "Road Island" turned up a hit in Florida.

I just tested OpenOffice Writer with spell check turned on; it doesn't like "rhode" either:

Let's see, who should I trust, some random idiot on the internet or those in the Vice President's office? hmmmm.

Not

Nevermind. Please follow along. Now, find me a viable program that WH staff would use to write a press release that "catches" Rhode as a misspelled word.

As for my standard of care here, you shouldn't assume that my lack of proofreading should be emulated by WH staff.

Do you not see a difference between actually typing the word Road for the word Rhode and hastily leaving out a letter in a typo. Normal, intelligent people can make typos. Idiots call it Road Island. See the difference? If not, I think we know which category you fit into.

To be fair though, Road Island could be a different state than Rhode Island. You know, one of the 57 states.

Yeah, you made me look like a fool in your make believe land. I am so ashamed of my typo. It made it all over the internet to make me look like a foolish butt clown. Oh wait, that was Joe Biden.

You are not aware Sarah Palin is inarticulate and stupid?

I mean, she thought the Queen of England ordered her troops to Afghanistan and Iraq. Steve Schmidt claimed she thought Africa was one country. Even Vanity Fair reported they did not see one book in her house.

Refudiate that!

Oh, she is a brain dead moron that I would not defend at all. Compare and contrast that with the brain dead moron that currenlty occupies the office she sought and look at all the brain dead morons defend him!

Who was talking about Sarah Palin, that used-up slut? She is yesterday's news (like the 57 states gaffe). But, I will see your Road Island and raise you one Rick Sanscrotum Netherlands euthanasia bracelet.

It is sort of hard to attack someone for bringing up Sarah Palin when you then decide to bring up Rick the Prick. Stay focused. I can practically see you spraying your frothing foam as you yell.

C'mon, let's hear some praise for Joey Amtrak. He's a swell dude, I bet he has mastered his Indian accent by now.

I seriously want you to tell me how great that shit for brains in the VP slot is. What's the matter? You can't think of a way to stick up for his stupidity?

I also see the call and would like to raise all of you one Newt and family values, and one Newt and child labor laws, one Mitt and offshore bank accounts, and one terrified Irish setter.

Ahh, anyting to avoid defending Joey Biden. Hell, who can blame you? I wouldn't want to defend that shit for brains either.

As long as we are speaking of offshore accounts, why does Obama accept campaign funds from them? Why does he take campaign cash from companies that exploit child labor laws?

You can visit Newport, hangout of the wealthy, beautiful yachts in the harbor. While your in Newport stop at the Charter house for a good meal, if you like chowder order a bowl at the Chowder House, you will enjoy the clam chowder or onion soup. Take in the "drive", that's where all the mansions built in the early 1900s. F, Scott Fitzgerald wrote the "Great Gadsby" there, the mansion was the "Breakers". You would notbelieve the money these bastards had that they could build these homes during the "Great Depression" while others starved.

Being the smallest state I would think the payoffs are lousy.

The payoffs for Powerball and Megamillions are the same in every state. The RI winner won a jackpot of $336 million...$210 million lump sum. You call that lousy?

It doesn't have much. Take a drive to MA. it is a very short distance, Fall River is close by to Providence. 195 East . Fall River has "Battleship Cove"where the Battleship MA and other ships and submarines are docked. Also, Fall River is famous for the "Lizzie Borden" murders. The house is like a bread and breakfast and only about 20 mins from Providence. Then from Fall River to New Bedford and the Cape is about 30 mins. Incidently, Fall River isthe town where that girl drowned in the pool and they didn't find her till the next day. Thar happened last summer, it was posted here.

Fall River is a dump. Interestingly, it used to be part of RI. RI swapped Fall River with MA in exchange for half of Pawtucket. Not sure who got the better of that deal.

Providence has many excellent restaurants.

I agree with that, I'm not saying you'd want to live there, it's a city of immigrants, if you get my meaning, what I'm saying if you're on your way to Cape Cod it is a straight drive 195

Portugese food you'll like the resturants in Fall River. They have some good dishes like lingucia and chips, and a lot of fish dishes like cod and shrimp Mozambique, very spicy but pretty good.

Oh sure, if you're heading to Cape Cod you'll go right by Battleship Cove. I actually have family roots in Fall River. My grandfather grew up right near where Emeril Lagasse grew up.

As bad as Fall River is these days, New Bedford is even worse. So it's got that going for it, I guess.

It was called "Pit City" by a Boston Newspaper I remember. Known for Big Dan's Rape, Joe Barboza, the Highway route 195 murders, stuff like that.

Lots of Portagees.

Hey, what Portagee sleeps in his car? Cardoza!
Hey, what Portagee walks on the beach? Santos!
Hey, what Portagee always thinks it's 12 o'clock? Nunes!
Hey, what Portagee is a delicious melon? Lopes!

Bada-bing! Thanks, I'll be here all week.
