First cell phone I was issed was a Mitsubishi Diamondtel.
The service was very limited then and as I recall the monthly
fee was $250.00 plus time and distance sensitivity rates.

Can't remember the exact year but I think it was 92. I still
have it here at home as it was quickly obsolete and I didn't
have the heart to toss it in the trash. I also have a couple
of phones that were taken out of elevators when we upgraded
our telephone system from analog to digital. They're marked
by Western Electric has having been made in 1938. The base
is made of wood and the copper wire is wrapped in fiber.
I also have an original wall mounted rotary dial Princess
phone in my kitchen that was in the house when we moved in and
still works fine.
Note to "good times". The pic you posted is an AT&T 2500 Desk Set.
Great phone. Right after the breakup of AT&T you could buy those
for $25.00. Good deal and I still have two that work.
