I know Virginia has 4 Seasons , but...

Okay, guys, im from upstate NY originally. Its frigid cold by this time of year. I mean, we get snow, and lots of it, around Christmas. But here in Northern Virginia where we have days in the 50s and 60s in December around Christmas, just doesn't seem very seasonal like. I have been here over 15 years and still waiting for to see a real snowfall on Christmas. I met some old timers, and they have said usually the the biggest snow month is January and February.
The way everything shuts down around here at the very mention of the word "snow" is so funny.

I know some Floridians would probably laugh at me, but its just freaky that we have so little snow.

Welcome to the Capital State of the South, you Yankee-carpetbagging, disrespecting, crusty cum bubble. We beat our niggers and all the while it's 61 degrees at the end of November. You can leave anytime you like.

I'm in Boston right now. All day it's been about 60 degrees, and tomorrow will see tempsin mid 60s. False spring, ran this morning around the Charles River and noticed cattails springing up.

yeah, i never said there wasnt any snow here. I just said its weird. Oh, and Boston- usually n ever ever 60 degrees this time of year. But as long as Ive lived in VA, its been that on a regular basis. Not just a fluke every 25 years or so. New England is usually freezing by now. Upstate New York get our first frost shortly after the kids go back to school in September. The leaves are at their peak by late September, not Halloween like here.

My relative in New Bedford Ma, told me he'll be cutting the lawn tomorrow. The fields at UMass, Dartmouth are as green as they were in July.

It snowed on Christmas in 93.

But no, we don't normally see snow of any appreciable amount until January usually. We get all four seasons, we just don't get winter until after Winter actually starts....which is Dec 22nd.

I found it really funny when New England shut down with those ice storms they had a few years back. What? They couldn't manage to keep things going, why not? They didn't get snow after all. It was just a little ice. That's what we get a lot of. That's why things shut down, that and the fact that half the drivers here have never seen snow except on TV.

New Englanders are a hearty breed, the descendents of Pilgrims, hearty Nautical Whalemen and leathery Green Mountain Yankee farmers. It would take a lot more then a little frozen water to dampen their motivation and spirit. What I saw last Feb. were typical southener rout, retreating to the expressway sidelines in mass when things got a little bit slippery, for shame.
