Police: Man locks wife in bathroom while he drinks beer outside

http://www.mcall.com/news/breaking/mc-locked-in-bathroom-upper-macungie-20110412,0,4782983.story

A 55-year-old Upper Macungie man locked his wife in the bathroom for more than an hour Saturday night while he sat outside drinking beers, according to court records.

Thomas Kutzura, of 6535 Tilghman St., shut the bathroom door behind his wife, propped a chair against it, and then sat down on the chair drinking beers so she couldn't budge the door open, according to court records. His wife managed to escape after he passed out from drinking so much.

According to court records:

Suzanne Kutzura told Berks-Lehigh Regional police she went inside the bathroom 7:30 p.m. and heard the door slam shut behind her. She tried to open the door, but could not. She said she could feel something propped up against the door, keeping it shut.

She told police she yelled "let me out" several times, but her husband was sitting on the chair and would not allow her to leave. At one point, she smashed out a bathroom window and yelled for help.

She told police she was afraid because she did not know when her husband would let her out.

At about 8:50 p.m., she was able to push the door open because her husband had passed out from drinking a large amount of beer. She grabbed some items and was about to leave when police officers arrived.

Thomas Kutzura was charged with unlawful restraint, simple assault and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned before District Judge Donna Butler and sent to Lehigh County Prison under $10,000 bail.

wow... the guy is a jerk but i would think she would really have to really make him angry for someone to go to such extremes. then again, there are some really crappy people out there that can be downright cruel.

She probably wouldn't shut up and the poor guy just wanted to relax with a few cold ones. A man's home is his castle.

Hope it was decent beer and not Yuengling or Rolling Rock.

The story would have been funnier if the beer made the guy need to take a monster leak.

Yes. It was Chimay. The beer favored by discerning PA wife abusers.

I only lock women in the bathroom when I'm in there with them. Locking them in the bathroom isn't smooth. And I know smooth. I'm always smooth.

Now Keystone is really really shitty beer, and Rolling Rock is typical mass-produced beer. But Yuengling? It's one of the better lagers out there in its price range.

It's blasphemous to even mention it in the same category as Keystone or RR.

What a fucking tard. the other beers mentioned had a PA nexus, even if it was tenuous like the Keytone remark. Pabst has nothing to do with PA whatsoever.

Go fail on another thread.

We all know that eesh drinks Blue Ribbon. Otherwise he would not have mentioned it.

You actually won't find much Iron City around eastern PA. I've seen it in places out in the Midwest, but it doesn't seem like they distribute to the eastern part of PA.

Damn straight. Whole Foods has the occasional sale on cubes of PBR for around $8.

+1 for the Lager. And it's just "Lager", no need to even say the word "Yuengling" if you're in friendly territory.

Somehow, Yuengling brings up images of dirty chinese railroad workers huddled around a fire in a barrel, drinking piss coloured beer and trying to stay warm.

It's actually an Americanized version of a German name, making his Chinese comment even stupider.
