Songs Performed By Gay Artists

Do you find these hard to listen to? More specifically, I am talking about songs recorded by artists prior to their coming out - like old Elton John songs for example. I listen to "Your Song", a nice tune but I cannot help but think he is singing to another man - granted he did not really write the lyrics, it was Bernie Taupin I am guessing. Or George Michael's Faith album - once a great album but now it seems so foreign to me.
