+1 I will say though the cold bottles of Honest Tea that Whole Foods sell are pretty addictive and will give you a buzz.

I must be the last person in America that doesn't drink any caffeinated beverages in the morning. No coffee, soda, tea, energy drink - nothing. Water, milk or juice, that's it.

I eat candy for breakfast sometimes too. Believe it or not, I'm thin.

I drink soda in the mornings, too. My body is all messed up. My normal temp is 96 degrees, yet I find that I tend to sweat a lot. Soda is my answer to properly wake up. I only drink coffee during the winter - at home on weekends.

Coffee and water for me. Juice is just as bad as soda if not worse.

I have a buddy who will gulp down glass after glass of chocolate milk in the morning. It's Horizon Organic and it's 190 calories for 8 ounces! He prob goes through 24-32 ounces a day. He's thin as well.

after sleeping for 8 or so hours without a drink you're probably a little dehydrated. I'd have to say water would be the best cure for that not caffeine. caffeine dehydrates the body and gives you bad breath. anyone who needs "something to get them going" probably isn't getting enough sleep or has a horrific diet.

Yup. First thing I do when I get out of bed in the morning is head straight to the fridge and pour myself a big glass of water. Every morning, like clockwork. It's the best thing for ya. I don't get my caffeine fix until after I'm settled in at work.

Green tea is great for losing weight. Some of the brands of green tea make a powerful diuretic.

I drink a lot of green tea during the day. Hardly any caffeine in it, but it's very refreshing and helps curb your appetite. You can buy some top-shelf (expensive) Japanese teas at Teavana, but I order the big bags of China Green Tips from Tazo. It's alot cheaper and is probably my fav. Sometimes I'll throw a pinch of white tea in with it to give it a naturally grassy-sweet taste. Good stuff.

I used to drink soda for breakfast (Dr. Peppper, Cheerwine or Coke) because it guaranteed a deuce each morning. However, I switched over to water about 6 weeks ago and found that it has the same effect, without all the unhealthiness of the soda. In fact, I find that my bowel movements are much softer and come out easier now than before, and are generally more fulfilling. The only drawback is that the softer stool is much messier, so I am wiping much more (I wish they would install a bidet in my office restroom).

I have made some pretty drastic changes to my diet in the last couple of months. One of the best tips I got from my GP is to eat an apple in between meals. It will help fill you up so you eat less at meal times and it is extremely healthy.

While I'm not the person that you're directly responding to, I do have a job and commute one hour each way. I also have a child - fortunately 17 years old now. I'm getting 8 hours of sleep per night.

When I was growing up, I drank well water on my sister's farm. That water was full of minerals, which would stain up the bath tub. I'd drink it and it was nice and cool. The downside to it was that it didn't contain flouride.
