But Eesh is descended from peasant stock whereas Meade is descended from the prominent Richmond Skelton family.

CATHERINE GILMAN OBITUARY
Catherine Skelton Gilman, 86, of Richmond, died January 20, 2005, after a brief illness. Mrs. Gilman, a member of one of the oldest families of Richmond, was the daughter of the late John Gifford Skelton and Catharine Hagan Skelton. She grew up on West and Park Avenues, was educated at private schools in Richmond and lived in the city for most of her life. A very generous and gracious gentlewoman, Mrs. Gilman was a talented artist and expressed those qualities, as well as her deep Christian faith, in her paintings and other art work. She charmed and delighted everyone she met and always lived by the Christian values of love, patience and kindness. Mrs. Gilman was preceded in death by her daughter, Catherine "Cathy" Gilman Haufe; and by her husband, William James Gilman III. She is survived by her sister, the noted designer, Jane Hutcheson of New Canaan, Connecticut; her son-in-law, Ernest P. Haufe of Richmond; her granddaughter-in-law, Jodi Kelley Haufe; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The grandchildren are Bonnie Campbell Haufe of Williamsburg, Sally Wingfield Haufe of Loudon County, Gretchen Mary Skelton Haufe of Richmond, Meade Skelton Haufe of Richmond, and Major Randolph Gifford Haufe of Heidelberg, Germany. The great-grandchildren all residing in Heidelberg, are Christopher, Catherine Elizabeth and William Haufe. A service for Christian dead will be held at St. Alban's Anglican Church, 4006 Hermitage Road at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2005. There will be a reception afterward and interment will be a Hollywood Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the St. Alban's outreach program are suggested instead of flowers.
