So explain, please, how Trump walks into the convention with 94% of the delegates needed to win the nomination and loses the nomination to Cruz (whom the RNC establishment hates at least as much as, if not more than, Trump).

Priebus and Ryan are doing everything they can to stop Trump. They are even changing the RNC rules for voting.

Priebus “has also let it be known that he does not plan to let the Trump campaign take over the party apparatus if he captures the nomination.

Easy. The RNC changes the rules, just like they did to exclude Ron Paul in 2012 (new rule: must have won majority of delegates in eight states). Is it fair? Not really. Of course, it's a gamble, especially if they parachute in a new face (e.g., Paul Ryan). You can bet Trump and Cruz won't go without a fight.
