Just Started watching Deadwood tonight.

Is it worth binge watching 3 seasons of? How does it compare to shows like The Sopranos, The Wire, Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad?

I'm a fan of all of those and I've heard generally positive things about Deadwood so I figured I'd give it a shot.

You will hear an oft repeated obscenity that was not actually used during the period. People did not bathe regularly during that time so the act itself was not commonly practiced .

Just finished watching Deadwood. Binge watched the whole fucking thing in a week.

All I can say is, what the fuck??? I knew it was only 3 seasons but I had no idea that was because of some bullshit between the series creator and HBO execs. In other words, the series was just cut short. So many lose ends to tie. So many story arcs left unfinished. The town looked like it was about to go to war at any second. And then, the season (and by extension, the series) ended.

Should not have been that way.

I know FFXU has a very empathetic user base so this is a great place to vent.

Deadwood was a great series. Now try HBO Rome. It also ran for 3 seasons.

I loved Deadwood. I just wanted to see Swengen, Wu, Bullock and Co. beat Hearst. It ended at low point for team good guys.

As it turns out, I considered binge watching Rome but I read the same thing about it as Deadwood. It's actually 2 seasons. And from what I understand, Rome was also cut short due to production costs.

It also dropped off a bit in quality in season 2. Season one, however, kicked an outrageous amount of ass. Thirteenth!
