I rarely agree with much that Trump says but by the act of not saying anything this time, he said a lot.
The easiest way to take the wind out of someone's sails that is trying to get their own name in the papers by gloaming on to you is to simple ignore them and pretend you've never heard of them.
Trump is pretty good at treating most people as his lessors, so this wasn't even a stretch.
