OBX vs. Other Beaches

I'm headed to Pine Island for 2 weeks, leaving this afternoon and was curious what other beaches do most NoVA locals frequent (or prefer)?
I've been to VA Beach a couple of times and Ocean City / Dewey about a dozen times in the last 10 years. OBX, only once before, but I seem to enjoy the peace-and-quiet and lack of riff-raff much more than the others. The only place it seems to compare to OBX is Nantucket, without the nautical aspect, but RI is too damn far to go every year.
What's the consensus for everyone here?

I'd take OBX any day over other beaches. I love it there. I always like to spend a day driving down to Ocracoke. You can stop along the national seashore along the way, long stretches of beach with no one around, it's really peaceful.

FYI, there's nothing gay about fucking your girlfriend on a remote stretch of beach somewhere before Hatteras.

in my humble experience sex on the beach is not so good cuz well there is SAND wich is abrasive and all and SUN wich is HOT and the sand getting places that aint so good and the SUN its best to just leave sex on the beach to cocktails names and go back to your hotel room and have sex on the beach hotel room or hot tub.

tried the ocean one as well. full of particles of sand, even beyond the wave breaks. not so good experience. LOL. Good thing there were no lifegaurds we looked like we were drowning and needed to be "rescued"

Hell, we did it in Jamaica in about 4 feet of water....Probably only about 50 people on the beach at the time....

Spring break in South Florida is very so-so as the water is not that warm unless youre in the Lauderdale area. Fort Lauderdale/Dayton spring break is so 1985.
