Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Vince kicking in with a good movie! It's hard to pick a favorite but here are a few good ones: El Mariachi - had me on the edge of my seat. Memento - had a pretty cool concept House of 1,000 Corpses - I think Mr. Zombie needs to make more movies. Life Aquatic- kind of a guilty pleasure, I haven't met many people who feel the same way about this movie House of Yes - A little out there, but I'd lick Parker Posey's shit off of a cactus
If we are talking about movies I watch over and over again when they are on...
Vacation (the original)
Caddyshack
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Goodfellas
Casino
Superbad
The Big Lebowsky
Fargo
Apollo 13
2001: A Space Odyssey
Taxi Driver
If we are talking about "Great Cinema," Dr. Zhivago.

I agree with almost all of these. I would add Repo Man ( the inspiration for Pulp fiction). And did you know that Almost Famous pretty much the prequel to Fast Times?
Anyone see Four Rooms? I thought that was a pretty entertaining flick. Maybe it's just because I'm gay for Quentin Tarantino but, the whole last chapter with the lighter was off da chain.

Behind the Green Door was probably the first xxx movie I ever watched....it sends a poor message to females. The "lesson" being that an agressively sexual woman some how earned her way into hell. Besides that..it was fun.

I don't think you are a douchebag. The only movie I have seen on your list is Memento, which rocks.

Have you ever asked your classmate why he borrowed 80% of the plot from Vacation? The wacky elder who dies on the trip to California, only to have the family do something weird with the body. The clueless dad. Being pulled over by the cop. Stopping at the hotel in Arizona. The final destination not working out as planned. I mean, seriously, I don't know why Harold Ramis and John Hughes didn't sue.

So, according to you, the great women's right activist of FFXU, its fun to watch movies that objectify women?

I do not think erotic movies..pictures...images in and of themselves excessively objectify women or men. Like everything in life moderation is the rule of thumb. So yes...erotic movies can be fun. When they become an excessive means to an end...or abusive...send the wrong message to men and women..they can cross a line. But in general sex and anything that helps produce a healthy and robust sex life...can be a good thing.
So relax Furfur...you probably wont hurt your possibilities of finding a women from jerking off. Unless of course it leads you to loosing interest in women.

I think your preference in erotica is consistent with your postings on here. I only hope you out grow it some day.

Musicals are great!
Connie and Carla was really funny.

Being vague is almost as fun as that other thing.

Me, too. Tra la la!
I have actually NEVER seen Les Miserables. It's on my list of shows I want to see. I was really bummed that I didn't get to see A Chorus Line when it was here a couple of months ago. That is my favorite. I used to watch the movie over and over.....

If they didn't use the machete on a real sea turtle, I would say Cannibal Holocaust would be a top pick.

It's completely cheesy and often voted as one of the worst sports movies of all time but for some reason I really like it. The opening scene at Daytona is awesome. The "Give Me Some Loving" race/crash montage is priceless. The rental car race scene is also. I could go on and on.
When I used to go down to Martinsville with a bunch of buddies in a RV for the race we would watch that movie during the drive so I guess it has a certain nostalgic value as well.
Goodfellas
Godfather I
Shawshank Redemption
Pulp Fiction
Blazing Saddles
Reservoir Dogs
Das Boot
Star Wars (episode IV)
Dr. Strangelove
Patton
Apocalypse Now

I guess I can see that. Kind of like how you can have a fond memory of a crappy movie you saw on a first date with your wife.
