I asked my bank to get me $500 worth of 2 dollar bills and it took them about a week but they got them for me. Now I am spending them at starbucks and convenience stores and I find that they piss people off. On two occasions I had Asian cashiers refuse to accept them. I think they make good tips however.
If you enjoy pissing people off like I do ask for some 2 dollar bills next time you are at the bank.

Dude, You need to get out more. Go on a hike in the mountains or join a club maybe buy an old car to restore.
It's because there isn't a $2 spot in the cash register drawer. This happened when the $1 gold coins were new back 6 - 7 years ago. People didn't know where to put them in the drawer.

funny, that happened to me at an airport bar a few years back. I got a beer and handed the bartender my money, which included a $2 bill. He looked at me all annoyed and said "I can't put that in my drawer". Apparently it does confuse cashiers, they can't figure out where to put it and this guy acted like a real douche about it.
