Here's the original car....the Holden Commodore. The Australian market gets a lot of cool cars.

The design looks very uninspired. Typical of GM to design bland automobiles and slap an expensive price tag on it.

$46K for an Australian Impala?

No thanks! GM is trying to market their NASCAR entry to the idiots that sit in the stands for 4 hours to watch WWE.

Reminds me of the Ford Falcon they sell over there.

I feel like it needs a bit bigger tires and rims.

They finally have something to compete with the Taurus SHO and Charger SRT8.

Government Motors is a failure of a company that should've been left to fail. Instead terrorist Hussein Obama bailed out his union thugs while closing down family owned dealerships all across America. GM never changed. They still mass produce the same shitty vehicles they always have. Why are two thirds of GM's jobs outsourced to other countries and growing. Mexico, Canada, electric cars in China and building Cadillacs in China.

Liberals continue the path of destruction for the USA.

They make some pretty good cars nowadays, just take a look at the zr1 and stingray. Great cars for the price.

This is true, GM stole more money than any organized crime syndicate, except maybe banks. They have not paid back $10 BILLION dollars. Since the bailout, they have moved much of their operations out of the US, and even had the gall to give each member of their union ~$6,000 a couple years ago.

I know a few people that bought SS's int he past month. All have or have owned G8's at the GT or GXP trim levels. I may trade my G8 GT in on one if they bring the HSV GTS version up which they haven't ruled out. It has the LSA and suspendion of the ZL!/CTS-V models.

The SS looks better in person and sounds much better than the G8 GXP, which the SS is an updated version of. Really, they call it a 4-door Corvette, but really it had more in common with the Camaro as they share the same platform and use similar parts. Holden did the design and engineering on the Camaro as well, hence why the Camaro and the Commodore/SS are very similar in parts. If is common for people with G8's to swap out the rear diff with a Camaro rear diff as a perfromance upgrade.

REally doesn't matter because production fo the Commodore/SS endsd in 2017 as GM is closing Holden manufacturing. All Holdens will be built outside Aus. and shipped in. The Commodore will cease to be in it's current RWD form and will be some rebadged FWD version unless they build them up here. That also means all the police spec Chevy Caprices (Long wheelbase Commodore) will be out as well.

Does this car have any relation to last GTO's? My brother had one of the final year GTO's (06 or 07?) and that thing was a beast. Has an LS-1 Corvette motor in it.

No, YOU are wrong...

The Stingray base coupe MAY be a "great car" for the price. It starts at $52K but, what else are you going to compare it to? What other V-8, 2 seat, RWD coupes match up against the base Stingray in performance at that price point?

And the upline hi-po Stingrays? (They don't make the ZR1 anymore...)

1LT Z51 - $54,800
2LT Z51 - $59,005
3LT Z51 - $62,800

If you're a Corvette jihadist or an overweight, balding, white retired plumber, you'll buy a Stingray but it's hard to objectively compare a Corvette or any car with a unique platform.

For $62,800 you could buy 55 of 75 C2 Corvettes currently available on EBay. Not as fast as a 2014 upline Stingray, but the 1963-1967 Corvettes come standard with much more class and heritage.

Everything prior to the C5 was a piece of shit. Uncomfortable rattle traps. Great to look at but God help you if you have to go on a trip in one.

The last gen GTO's were Holden Monaro's rebadged as the GTO here.
