GDP was growing at an astounding 4.1 percent right before the shut down

Third quarter results are in. Our economy was kickin ass right before Republicans shut down the government. I hope they didn't do too much damage. Our country needs this. We know consumer confidence took a big hit, we'll see.

It doesn't sound like a credible figure, does it? I read the increase from the advance figures to the second revision were the largest ever. The previous revision increased everything but personal consumption. This one revised only the personal consumption category.

Obama's economic policies saved your asses. He's set precedent about how you deal with an economic crisis. The bottom line is the Democratic economic strategy was right. Greece and Britain went with austerity, we went with stimulus.

They're begging us for trade now.

Be humble as we crush those who would destroy our republic.

The proof is in the pudding. I hear that tea Partiers in charge and obstructionists republicans are actually being ground up and added to the capital Christmas pudding.

Yummy.

They're the same policies that created the 90s and 00s bubble and created the expensive busts that followed. You can't base an economy on inflating asset prices. You have to keep extracting equity from the assets to keep the Ponzi economy going.

Not very many people are benefitting from the economy. Some people are being fleeced in order to boost the fortunes on Wall Street.

I don't think you remember the state this economy was in. We were losing 700,000 jobs a month, had trillion dollar deficits, the market had lost half its value.

We had two choices, the Republican plan to take away granny's health care and other austerity measures or the Democratic plan of hit it and hit it hard with stimulus, stabilize the economy and revenue and then focus on deficit reduction on a stronger footing.

Great Britain followed the Republican solution with a Conservative Prime Minister and experienced triple dip recessions. We on the other band went through a slow but now accelerating recovery.

Mind you this happened despite unprecedented opposition Republican obstruction.

This has pretty much settled in economic theory what is the only way you deal with such an immediate economic crisis.

You were wrong and that's a fact.

Don't give too much credit to politicians. Political actions mostly effect the margins of our economy. Our robustness is based on our innovations and productions.

The '90s boom was fed by the computer revolution. The next big boom is starting in drones and robotics. If obstructionists would get out of the way...look out!

Things are looking up!

Once again, I'll repeat it one more fucking time. The Republican plan has proven to be a failure and would have failed. The Democratic plan has proven to be a success and that's why we've recovered.

We're supposedly on an fiscal austerity path right now after the sequester and the tax increases kicked in late 2012. All of the countries/regions have been printing massive amounts of money for the last two years. As for monetary policy, I don't see where there's anything resembling normalcy, let alone austerity.

I would say what we're seeing now is a temporary bump due to the imminent expiration of stimulus. The 50% bonus depreciation and the $500,000 section 179 expensing are gone in 11 days. Businesses have to invest or lose it.
