I met my wife on line at the state fair. We were both waiting to play the game where you hit the bell with the giant hammer and see how high you can make the thing go....well, I was ahead of my wife and my turn came up. I took the big hammer and swung it and hit the dinger as hard as I possibly could, and the meter went way up to 10. I was ecstatic. Then my (future) wife went and she swung and the thing went up to 50! My ecstaticism turned to dismay! I was so humiliated in that moment. I was standing in front of the kettle corns with my face in my palm muttering "why me...?" and she saw me out of the corners of her eye....well, she came over and gave me a good punch on the shoulder and said "you'll get em next time champ" and walked away. She was with a group of girlfriends and a guy friend and they were all laughing so hard as they walked away. One even called me gay. But then I saw my future wife look back hesitantly and then I smiled. And she smiled.


10 weeks later we happened to bump into each other again, this time on line at the post office. She was mailing a certified letter and I was buying some Jackie Robertson commemorative stamps. The postman said to her "I'm sorry ma'am but we can't mail this" and I punched her and said "You'll get em next time champ". and 3 years later we're married and expecting our third child in October.

Jackie, if you're reading this........................I love you.

So Jackie and I were driving back from the flea market yesterday in the pimmit hills area and there was a row of ducks, a family, marching across the street. It was a pretty busy street and all the traffic just stopped and the ducks were just going on and on and on, and you could tell the other drivers were getting all irritated and annoyed. It's about time someone is on the right track around here! I was really starting to doubt this place. It's true that a joke or two is the best medicine... Especially for the terminally ill and such... but it's so easy to lose sight of what's most important in life.


I'm glad someone was finally brave enough to stand up and declare how important our wives are... In fact, I was just making a joke with my wife this morning about how depressed I was and that I couldn't stand the sight of her.... and that if I had to wake up to her breathing on my face one more time I was going to murder her and the kids.
