What are people's favorite drinks? Here are a few of mine:
Cranberry Liquer
Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 (12 oz) package fresh cranberries
- 3 cups vodka
Steps
- Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan; cooke over medium heat until sugar dissolves, stirring constantly
- Remove from heat and cool completely
- Place cranberries in a food processor and process 2 minutes or until linely chopped
- Combine sugar mixture and cranberries in a large bowl; stir in vodka
- Pour mixture into clean jars; secure with lid
- Let stand for 3 weeks in a cool, dark place, shaking every other day
- Strain the cranberry mixture through a cheesecloth-lined sieve into a bowl and discard solids
- Carefully pour liqueur into clean bottle or jars
- Liqueur can be stored at room temperature for up to a year
Serving Suggestions
- Sip in chilled glasses
- Drizzle over icecream and fruit
- Mix with Cointreau and lime juice
- Mix with lime juice and top with sprite
Mango Sangria
This is the recipe I use (although I substitute mango and mango vodka for the peach)
Voyant Chai Cream
Great for sipping - tastes like a chai latte.
Margaritas
Margaritas and Amarette Sours are great when they aren't too sweet. I've finally given up on my original margarita recipe (equal parts fresh lime, tequila, triple sec and grand marnier) because most people found it too strong. Instead, I use Jose Cuervo Margarita Mix and tequila... then top it off with some fresh lime juice and triple sec. I've found they get rave reviews when I rim the glasses with lemon cocktail sugar.
