Edison High School: Drugs, Nepotism, and Sports, a Toxic Mess
Posted by: Concerned Edison Fan ()
Date: February 24, 2012 11:33PM

It is bad enough that Edison receives bad press because of poor leadership and substance abuse among it's students. However, the plot thickens when nepotism and substance abuse form a toxic mix. For example, FCPS puts kids up for expulsion for being caught with drugs in school, not so if your daddy is a drama teacher at Edison and you are a baseball prospect. The student, known as TM, tells teammates at tryouts that "You guys suck, I am better than you motherfuckers" and do not belong on the JV." Caught in possession of marijuana and fake marijuana twice and is getting the star treatment as a freshman. Also, another student known as DH, is the son of an administrative assistant. DH was bragging that he was guaranteed a spot on the baseball team because his mom worked in the building and the coach told him he did not need to try out. Finally a JV player known as JD, has been to a mandated drug school, not once but twice and is selected for the JV team. Great job Coach Lam, you preach that character counts, yet you cut kids with character and reward bad behavior and drug use. No wonder why Edison baseball is on the decline. Practice what you preach Lam, but don't feel bad because Coach Parker of the football team has the same leadership philosophy as you.

During the fall football season the football team and cheerleaders engaged in a sex and beer party. The football team received no discipline, but the cheerleaders did. Way to do what is right Ms. Craft. You have more balls than Lam, Parker and Croghan ever will.

In sum, is your kid has a drug problem, obtain a teaching or an administrative assistant position at Edison. Your drug addicted son can be elevated to varsity with a bad attitude, your son can be guaranteed a spot on the JV baseball team without trying out, or you can curse teachers, skip school, party and do drugs and still make the baseball team. Way to set the tone for your program Lam, no wonder why Jacque Moon should be the coach!

Why would you come on here talking about what kids are doing. You don't know shit! You are pissed because your kid was cut from the baseball team. If they are so awful and on the decline why would you want your kid to play there. It's baseball which if you hadn't noticed is also on the decline. Maybe your son should take up chess I hear there's an opening on the debate team too. Not everyone can play high school sports. If you don't like it take your kid to the Babe Ruth league with a registration fee and he will make a team. I am so tired of people coming on this site trashing the school and still sending their kid there. If it's that bad send him to private school. Don't have the money get a second job or just keep whining about your situation and blaming everyone else because your kid sucks. BTW not that many kids tried out for the team don't think you can hide behind the computer. They will figure out which parent you are and your kid will never make a team there. Way to go! Eagle Pride. Small school, big heart!

If you ever wanted to know what happens when someone who lives vicariously through their child sees that child cut from a high school sports team ...

Every kid likes to brag about stuff, I highly doubt that any of that is true, other than TM. But, Edison baseball is definitely not on the decline. The varsity team looks great, and the JV team is good as well. Both are packed with young players.

Yes, people do care and they should, because if not you are just as quilty has them and you might want to think about your morals and your character It's unfortunate that when someone calls the coaches out, the people who have him for a coach will protect him. (Usually, because he has them my the balls).

This is just sad. You are blaming 14-16 year old student athletes because your freshman son got cut from the JV baseball team? There were a lot of boys who tried out this year, and they just must have been better than your son. Tough. It's HIGH SCHOOL BALL, no more daddy coaching crap. They will pick the best athletes for their team who will pull wins, be coachable, and respectful. If your son lacks the talent, too bad. Sign him up for CSLL or Pioneer and hopefully he'll improve by next year.

TM's expulsion happened when he was in SEVENTH GRADE. He is a great kid now and an even better ball player.
DH is an excellent player, as well.
Their parent's careers with the school had absolutely nothing to do with their athleticism, personality, and solid baseball skills.

Must I add, Lam is a great coach. He was simply doing what he thought was best for the Edison baseball program. If you can't recognize or respect that, you don't deserve to be apart of it.

and it's obviously working considering their 16-0 lead against Wakefield last night.

What these kids do in there spare time and what their parents occupations are have nothing to do with their ability to play. They are all great kids and amazing ball players! They are 14 year olds. They do stupid things and make mistakes. Everyone does. They have both been playin baseball for a long time and they deserve to be on the team.

Coach Lam did not put TM and DH on the team because they're parents work there. Matter of fact another kid who tried out, his father works up there as a security guard and he did not make the team even though That kid was also on the team last year. So it goes to show that everyone on the team made it because they are talented. Something you should teach your kids about.

I'll say it again, if your freshman son got cut from JV too bad, it's because he pretty much sucks. Hell, most of the freshmen who did make the team - besides my son TG's friends, of course - suck. They all need to go back to Pioneer or CSLL and learn how to play baseball again, maybe one day they can be as good as TG. He has all the tools; an arm like Roger Clements, a bat like Mark McGuire, and speed like Barry Bonds. Plus he could kick Joba Chamberlain's ass in a hot dog eating contest.

Coach Lam is the greatest coach ever, he's HS baseball's version of Jim Zorn as far as I'm concerned. I know because I'm an expert at baseball and really all things sports since I'm a finely tuned athlete myself.

P.S Anyone know why McDonald's stopped offering Super Sized meals?

Yep, this proves it, a victory against that baseball powerhouse Wakefield HS. Edison rarely wins a game against them, as I'm sure you know since you are an expert at all things Edison.

How'd they do against that sad sack Yorktown team?

Lam is a shitty coach and anyone who thinks otherwise is either a moron, knows nothing about baseball, or both. For you 'Jamie', my money would be on the latter.

Hijacking one of the parent's name to post? How juvenile are you? Still mad about being cut? Maybe you should have shown up at winter workouts and made a real effort. Instead, you and your daddy have to trash the school, the team, and the players on the internet.

Besides, the real Mrs. G would know that the pros' names are Clemens and McGwire, not Clements and McGuire.

To all EHS staff, students, parents... Please beware that there is a big cock sucker employee of Edison High School who likes to talk a lot of shit and create postings on the underground about EHS and of what goes on in the inside of the school. He's a two face punk who will smile in your face one minute and trash you the next on the underground.

Beware!

Fuck you asshole... your ending is coming soon....

Look here you dick smoker, all I asked is what the JV team's record was. No need to talk about fucking somebody's asshole. What's wrong, have trouble counting to 1 (as in 1 win)? And if you have an issue with an EHS employee who you think is posting stuff on FFU maybe you should grow a pair and confront him or her yourself, numb nuts, Just make sure to beef up your dental insurance beforehand as you'll probably end up with a mouth full of chicklets where your teeth used to be (on a more positive note, Mrs. G will probably like that).

Funny of how in the beginning of this post you speak of the cheer leading coach as if she's a good coach with great character. I don't know her personally and I'm sure she is a good person. But, wasn't you who gossiped about her being a whore who will sleep with anyone? Hmmm... That's right, your exact words, " It's no secret around Edison that she'll fuck anyone... One night at the Fish Market (bar) her and a staff member fucked one another in the bathroom stall. She's known to get around."

Again, I don't know her personally and I'm sure she's a good person, but who the fuck are you to talk about her like that! And most of all who the fuck are you to judge her. Ladies and gentleman... there is more... much more.

Wow,does anyone have the cheerleading coaches number? Pictures?

Any one know what the JV team's record is so far? Since Mrs. G and HDIFTBH have lectured everyone about how awesome the team is and how anyone who got cut is a terrible athlete (hey, not everyone can make the golf team), I thought for sure there would be a follow-up email about their amazing victories. So far all I've read about is the big Wakefield victory. Eagle pride!

Edison is a good school, the teachers are good. Some parents are too much. Our teachers have to deal with the entire student body, sometimes your precious darling isn't as special as you think.

And your actions on this blog have shown what kind of parent you really are.
