I have been completely and utterly disgusted by the fear mongering coming from both the Hillary Clinton camp as well as the Republican party.
They are doing everything they can to paint Barack Obama as a Muslim in the hopes that ignorant, racist Americans will take the bait. Unfortunately there is a population of people in the United States who are biting and being taken hook, line and sinker.
Some of these people call themselves Christians and I say to you hypocrites, you are to the Christian faith, the equivalent to what suicide bombers are for Islam. (Which is to say, you’re a shameful example of what you supposedly believe.)
This photo of Barack Obama wearing traditional Somali clothing was taken when he visited Kenya in 2006. And as a good guest to that country he accepted the gift that was given to him and tried it on. It’s called diplomacy.
What’s the big deal? Why are we not being bombarded by this image of Hillary wearing hijab?
Or how about President Bush in Chilean garb?
Here’s Bill Clinton in a Jewish Yarmulke.
And here is First Lady, Laura Bush, wearing a chador.
Chances are, you haven’t seen these photos before. Ever ask yourself why then, you have been seeing Barack Obama in traditional Somali garb all over the news? It’s called a smear campaign. It’s called fear mongering. It can be called a lot of fancy things but basically it’s called hate and ignorance and it should not be tolerated.
Then there was the photo of Barack Obama standing at attention, but with his hand not covering his heart, while the national anthem was sung. Some have incorrectly said that it was during the Pledge of Allegiance. Here is proof, it was during the anthem. The video shows Obama actually singing along at one point. How is that unpatriotic?
Besides, chances are you’ve never seen this photo:
That’s George H.W. Bush standing without his hand on his heart, also during the National Anthem. Where was the big hoopla surrounding this?
Now, some members of the Republican party have taken to calling Barack Obama by his full name which is “Barack Hussein Obama”. When accused of purposefully playing on people’s fears and the connotation the name “Hussein” has with the Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, the Republicans smirk and say, “Well, it’s his legal name? What’s the big deal?”
The big deal is that the name is being used with evil intentions. American people, you are being played like a fiddle at a hoedown. Obviously the Republican party has no respect for any of you. They use these tactics because they think you’re stupid enough to fall for them. They think you will look at the photo of Obama and his middle name and draw the conclusion that he’s Muslim. They also think that you are racist and hateful enough to then not vote for him based on that assumption.
Well, are you?
I’m sad to say that a lot of you are complete idiots. You’re a disappointment to your country and your religion. You do not stand for what this country was founded on, or what your religion teaches you.
CNN reported on this issue and as I read the comments on the story I was shocked at the outright racism and ignorance people were proud to show off.
Here are a few of those comments:
“Obama’s middle name scares the heck out of me. I do not trust this man.”
“He’s obvious [sic] got something to hide. I personally think he is a secret Muslim.”
“Barack Hussein Obama is his real name, right? So, what’s the problem…? Exactly…my next President, if I can help it, won’t have Hussein as his middle name and he won’t have ties to Muslim beliefs.”
“i have never been a muslim” obama - pardon my ignorance - but how did he get the middle name - hussein”
Are you kidding me with this? Seriously? Seriously. These are my fellow Americans? My 6 year old is more intelligent than the lot of you!
There was one commenter who got it right. She said,
“I am SOOO tired of people talking about Obama’s middle name. If you judge a guy based on the name his parents gave him you’re an idiot and you shouldn’t even be allowed to vote. Seriously… I wish they had IQ tests at the polls….
