I have to think he drinks while concealed carrying. He can't carry to work (MD), and any other time he leaves the house, he's getting trashed somewhere. He brags about having a loaded gun in every room of the house, and when they recorded the show in his basement, people (who had also been drinking) were always moving firearms out of the way so they could sit down. It's just a matter of time before one of those mouth-breathers wins themselves a Darwin award.

She isn't the morbidly obese jack ass that spends more time insulting his fans and destroying his show instead of cultivating a base who might care about his, now, crappy podcast. That's why people don't hate on her much. Plus, I don't think anyone here really knows much about her. One of the guys here used to see her when Chad came into his store and said she was good looking but helped a lot by the fact she was always standing next to him.

Also, in terms of Oscar nodding his head at the music... in case you hadn't realized, Oscar has no say in how the show runs. Oscar cannot stand up to anyone, let alone someone as stubborn as Chad. He has no spine and no real radio talent. Chad will tell him how the show will be run and what the content will be.

Listened to the show on the way to work this afternoon. Here's how they spent the hour as it seemed to me.

1st 20 minutes - banal banter followed by a lame tease for an upcoming live show

2nd 20 minutes - talk to a member of the band playing at the live show, very similar to last week's interview

3rd 20 minutes - uninteresting story about Pastry Dan's car/life and a phone call from one of their old producers.

How exactly would ANY of that content make a new listener want to continue to listen or buy a Reloaded episode? It's not relatable to a brand new listener. Granted, I listened to them back on WJFK and for about the 1st year of the podcast so I can follow when they do some of their "inside" stories. But the entire show may as well have been two dopes from WTOP sitting in my car doing nothing but traffic and weather on the 8s. It just felt like talking for the sake of making noise.

I used to really enjoy these guys and it's saddening to see how far they've fallen. I almost hope their live show attendance is less than 20 people. Maybe they'll finally get the message that they need to change something or just hang it up.

What I don't get is they used to talk about having concerts with some bands that I would actually be interested in. If there were a big o and dukes presents the Gin Blossoms and some other rando act they would almost assuredly get a better turnout than they would for sunny ledfurd.

The episodes have been pretty good for a couple months, to be perfectly honest. They still do a horrible job of expanding, as has been documented on this thread. I used to consider both BOAD and TMOS in the same realm, but lately BOAD has been way funnier. Not sure if that's more praise for Chad, or disdain for Mike. Either way, a quiet message board isn't necessarily a bad sign for the show.

I disagree. I have never listened to TMOS, so I can't compare, but IMO BOAD has been spotty. The can beer show was weak, the interviews with obscure bands that Chad likes have been boring, peanut gallery drama has been boring, but there have been a few good bits here and there.

They do the beer show 4 times a year. Get over it. It's a very small part of their show. It obviously allows them to do things like get a dedicated phone line, webcams, etc with the extra income. Name a radio show that appeals to you 100% of the time. It just does not happen. Greg is right, the shows have been funny the last few months.

Yup the free episode was amazing. Great radio. Reloaded however, was more bullshit and completely boring. Just more of Chad complaining about how "the black community" (whatever that means) should feel and act. Not to mention shitting on Coach G who made them have the best hour of radio they have had in YEARS.

Doing beer shows four times a year wouldn't be a big deal if they did shows more often than once a week. If there's a beer show, you basically have to wait two weeks before there is decent content.

Coach G was very funny, the stories were good, it wasn't all Chad, and the Chad's friends were nowhere to be heard.

Note that the beer show was one of several things I cited, not the only thing.

I think there were two additional things that made it a good episode:
a) Coach G knows how to sit behind a microphone, it's what he does for a living unlike the turds in the peanut gallery.
b) What they discussed had happened a long time ago over a much longer period over a week.
Unfortunately neither of those things point towards consistently putting out this level of quality regularly in the future. I would LOVE for them to prove me wrong though, if they put out shows of this quality 3/4ths of the time I would start feeling excited for new shows again and promote them on social media again.

The free episode this week was great. I was laughing my ass off. Coach G wasnt afraid to call out Dukes. Usually if you call out Dukes he will attack back and the person calling him out cowers into their shell. Glenn wasnt doing that and it made GREAT radio. I wish they were all like that.

You can tell from the free show this week that there needs to be someone there to keep Chad from devolving into the redneck, bigoted, sexist caricature he has created over the last three years.

A literal slap fight or a verbal one? I have no interest in listening either way but one might be mildly entertaining if you are a total loser and drunk.

I thought the fight was pretty good radio. Definately better on the Ustream but still made for good radio to get two fat guys without an ounce of athletic ability punch the shit out of each other.

Shocker, 10 minutes into the free episode Oscar was complaining that he wasnt invited to Whole Foods to drink with Chad.
