Here's an interesting Chad post. If this were BOAD, 1, I'm certain they would have mentioned it 100x on the show; and 2, the code would be something BOAD related. It can't be a radio gig thing, right? Would the passcode be Chad? Does he care enough about the radio gig to promote an affiliate program? No chance in hell!

However, that being said, he certainly knows little to nothing about all of those things so it may be funny to listen to once or twice. I know he is flat out awful on his video game show so sometimes it's enjoyable to listen to him stammer and spout out totally incorrect things or inadvertently admit he is AWFUL at some game he is 'all in on'.

I'm kind of tempted to try and attend the lost series finale event next week with with oscar and drab.

I don't see this going off well either, to be honest. Neither of them do anything, who is going to bring a hatch? They may buy a t shirt.

Chad is right that it's stupid to hold a series finale party for a show that had its series finale 3-4 years ago. Then again, I'm sure his competing idea will be something incredibly stupid and infantile like a wrestling show.

Think about what? I haven't listened to the show in a year. The only "talk radio" I listen to is the Kane show on my way in to work in the mornings. I haven't downloaded a podcast in months. I stop in here now and then to see if anything has changed. I used to log into the podcast acct and see how the numbers were doing. Haven't done that in months either and I'd be shocked if they haven't changed the login (and if they haven't, im sure they will after reading this). I'm sure they are still hovering around 5-8k downloads per week including the 2.5k itunes subs. And, no, I don't talk to Sven. Haven't in over a year. The only person affiliated with the show that I occasionally talk to is Zohan.

i cant stand meatball subs, so that pic does look kind of foul. I would be interested to know where it came from though, because the bread roll looks pretty nice and I do like toasted melty subs and places that serve fries with them.

I listened during nearly their entire JFK run and the first year of the podcast, and I have no idea what is going on now. Although I admittedly listen less often because the show is not amusing. Maybe I need to take a page from Mike O'Meara and "try harder" to like the show. The occasional Drab or Oscar story is the only thing that breaks up the Chad Dukes and friends circle jerk.

It looks like Chad was at the Fair Lakes Whole Foods late Sunday and those look like the chairs and floor of the grille there.

I don't have inside information or anything, but I listen to a LOT of podcasts. Sometimes they talk about the business side of the medium and here is what I can tell you based on those conversations...

I am pretty sure the #1 podcast overall, This American Life, is downloaded somewhere in the neighborhood of 700-900k times per episode. Top comedy podcasts like Adam Carolla, Rogan, Marc Maron, The Nerdist, etc. are downloaded about 200-500k times per episode. Therefore, it is not a stretch to say that BOAD's 5-8k downloads a week is close to pitiful. I can't even begin to imagine how few people pay money for the bonus weekly podcast.

I found an article from 2011 saying Carolla averaged 379k downloads per episode, a record at the time. Seems like solid numbers are tough to track down for the others.

5-8k is probably between mediocre and awful. I doubt those are unique downloads, but even if they are, less than 5% of that has to be people paying for the reloaded show. They each make a couple hundred bucks a week at most, before overhead.

Its not as much as they used to get. The first podcast has been downloaded about 50k times and since then I believe the first reboot of the snacks of the round table got the highest around 25k. But every week since then, with a few exceptions, has dropped. No surprise that the podcast where he laid into RTH was a slight bump as was the first show with phones. They could be going up since then. I don't know and don't really care. RTH was getting solid numbers before it got canned. I had pretty big dreams for that show lol.

I can't say my life has gotten better as a direct result of distancing myself from the show. I do miss ultimate frisbee, disc golf, soccer, etc. I also miss just hanging out with a bunch of different people - JC, Lea, Zohan, Bruce even Dick and Dan. They were - and still are - great people. Oscar, albeit a bit aloof at times, was generally nice to me and very appreciative of my willingness to help out. Chad was never disrespectful to me outside of what was aired on the show. He was pretty humble at private parties and just fun to be around because he was entertaining as hell. Yeah he does have some issues - but who doesn't. Chadisfat has to edit every single post he makes. OCD? Just an example. Drab is really the only person involved with the show that I didn't want to be around. Its been a year since everything went down and I don't want to rehash it but suffice it to say that he was the reason for my leaving despite anything else that may have been said. So I can't really say if my life has gotten better or worse - It's just my life minus the show stuff which included good and bad things.

So do they read this or not? I remember you said that the Peanut Gallery did but the Big 3 didn't, which, in LD's case I found a bit hard to believe. Chad has always struck me as too insecure a tub of goo to be able not to. Oscar and Drabber may not care about this thread. Oscar doesn't really get trashed much here and all of us like Drabber.

But given how Dukes monitors his social media feeds like a hawk for the SLIGHTEST thing he finds disagreeable, how could he not view this thread which serves as an excellent counterweight? lol!

That's nearly identical to my listening history. I remembered Dukes as the intern who prank called EITM and had never heard of Oscar but tuned in a few times when BOAD came on nights and thought the show was great up until their last broadcast. When the podcast started I ate it up along with Reloaded but eventually lost all interest in the show.

I suspect we fit the profile of much (if not most) of their listening base.

I think they said they shipped out a little over 200 shirts to the yearly subscribers, that's $20K. I have no idea how the yearly vs. à la carte reloaded customers break out though.

Wow, well no wonder they sold out the first few shows quickly and then had trouble selling out the latest one. It's funny though 'cause in the show that was the aftermath of the last live event Oscar said that listenership was up.

Now, 50K for the first show may not be a fair comparison to 5-8k since it's been out there longer and had more time for people to download it. Some people may have wanted to start listening from the beginning and catch up (and some may have lost interest along the way) and some may have already heard it and downloaded it again or maybe archive bots get the show each time they archive the site. You'd have to look at the pattern of listeners and compare that (ie if 1st week downloads made up 80% of all downloads, you'd have to compare 1st week downloads of the 1st show to 1st week of the more recent ones).

And for what it's worth, I did enjoy listening to RTH when you hosted it (although given that BOAD only wanted their show to be the focus of RTH, I thin it was a bit much to have two hours of BOAD content for each hour of RTH content). I haven't listened to it since it came back, but a lot of that is because my enthusiasm for the show has slowly waned.

Those shirts were UGLY. Had I resubscribed I would have requested that they send it to a starving child in Africa instead of my house.

I unfollowed Chad on twitter and it has made the show more enjoyable. If you dont see all of his insufferable bitching and non stop hipocracy, you dont get fed up with him by the time you listen to the show. You also dont have to see any of the bottom feeding losers in the peanut gallery. Just seeing those fat nerd, pathetically dressed losers made me feel like a loser. If I enjoy the show and they enjoy the show, are we similar?!?! No... no I am not similar to those sub humans.

I thought this weeks was pretty enjoyable.

At one point last night, the BOAD twitter encouraged people to send messages to Opie from Opie and Anthony about how BOAD should be on their Saturday programming. I wonder how that went.

Honestly Dave, I assumed your life would be better because that show (and the people involved) seemed like a mess of backstabbing and disrespect that would be toxic to any normal life. However, you have been pretty open and honest about the show so I have to believe you when you say that Chad was actually a pretty decent guy to you (he still acted like crap to you on the 'air').

Sorry to hear about Drab. The few times I met him he seemed like a pretty decent guy (funny enough, Oscar was the biggest tool by far). It's too bad he seemed to have edged you out.

Anyway, I appreciate you 'stopping by' and being pretty open and honest with us. I also appreciate your attempts to make RTH anything but the total Chad love fest that Fat Dukes has turned it into. If the show had not been cancelled then it might have actually been interesting.

Anyway, whomever it is, I seriously doubt that person is simply paying for all of the supplies (and donating all of his time) and getting no money. I'm sure all of his costs are covered before anyone takes a cut. Therefore the cut is pretty small.

Thought I'd randomly pop in here and throw out an opinion. Being a loyal listener since their first few shows in AZ, I was so excited when they made their return in podcast form.

But damn, all their podcasts have been the same since day 1. 75% of the show is them (mainly Dukes) ranting about and making fun of their "crew." Pastry, Dane, Wobbly, and whatever the hell the nicknames-of-the-week are.

Wish they'd go back to some sort of actual format. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I'm tired of hearing about the hangers-on every week.

Hell, I actually liked "Today's Top Story" because it helped it feel like a real show. But that was scrapped fast.

It was scrapped because Chad didn't like it. He thinks he is vastly more entertaining and doesn't want to be seen as a topical news guy (I'm serious about that). He 100% HONESTLY believes his crowd of people are what makes the show run and that people listen specifically for their stories about each other.

i like the reloaded shirt and have gotten a couple compliments on it from people who dont know the show. *shrugs*

The personal stories when they were on radio were hilarious. (Drabs shower sitting, Chads mom making him wear a bike helmet and following him to school, and Oscars strange relationship with his mother.) But they mixed in a bunch of other stuff.

You know what's NOT hilarious? Listening to Chad rant about random members from the peanut gallery that nobody outside of his circle know or care about.

All the above stories you just mentioned, while personal, focused on the "big 3". When they were on air, I also enjoyed when they would bring in Beau, Ryan the Rascist, Turd in a Suit, even Sven, the guy Drab fought(forgot his name) but all of those guys were people who actually worked at JFK and thus they actually had a purpose in life other than to be Chad's piss boys.

Oh no. Andrew Ryan has crawled out of hole to post something. Wish he wouldn't have.

I agree with the sentiments. I miss the old show. Yet I think one thing to keep in mind is that content needs to be generated somehow. The three of them don't have an unlimited number of stories to tell. Eventually you run out.

Now shows like O&A or Howard started using their "cast" for creating some of those stories, which is fine. Howard is pissed at Gary. Sam Roberts pissed off Erock after yesterday's show. Troy Quan just returned from some wacky DJ'ing trip, so lets hear about it. Complaining about management is always good too.

BOAD has no management to complain about. Last I knew, Dukes had given up on complaining about "The Fan", probably because he was told to stop. They have no "staff" really to bring in for occasional segments like they did with interns, Beau, Ryan and some others. Also the "radio life" generated content. They have no appearances at Kilroy's on Thursday night to talk about now on Friday.

They need to rely on their lives to generate content, and it probably just isn't there. Chad won't talk about the Lavar Arrington show, so there goes half of his week. The rest is what we get now, bro-ing it up at Whole Foods with Wobbledickdog Bruce and watching wrestling. Not missing much. Drab has always been low key. He won't trash talk the Junkies, even if there was something to trash them for, and he probably just hangs out with his girl. No fun there. So we go to Oscar. Oscar spends part of his day doing the Mike O'Meara Show, and I don't know what kind of "job" he is holding these days, but overall he seems to have mellowed out too. Maybe the most potential out of the three, but still not a lot to talk about.

So what is left? They could talk about current events like Uhh Yeah Dude and other podcasts, which I think would be fine. Chad and Oscar debating was always good radio, with Drab occasionally stepping into the fray. Instead, they've let Chad base the show around what he and his group of friends do. It isn't amusing, and it doesn't give Oscar or Drab much of a part to get into the mix.

Bottom line, the show needs a redo. They may want to be "different" and not do current events, but they really don't have much without it. I think it'd be amusing for them to do a Jocktober like bit every now and then and trash another radio show or podcast, but they probably don't want to do that either.

But they went from having to fill 4 hours 5x a week to having to fill 2 hours 1x a week. It should be that much easier to produce a quality podcast than the radio show and yet they don't.

Nearly 30 minutes into the newest podcast and it's been nothing but Chad talking about him and his crew. (With a few minutes of Drab doing the same.) I don't know any of these people. I don't care about any of these people.

If you want to grow into a truly successful national podcast and, maybe one day, get back on the air, alienating your listeners by talking about nothing but your close inner circle isn't going to get it done.

I still have some of the AZ shows archived and they are HILARIOUS. Listening to their podcasts now is just depressing. Chad rambles on about his inner-circle for most of the episode, Drab occasionally chimes in when he gets the chance, and Oscar just giggles.

I remember how pumped I was when I heard that they were back in Podcast form. (Listening to their radio show used to get me through many boring work days.)

It's depressing how awful the show is now!
