DWI Checkpoint in McLean Saturday, June 11

Text of news release:
Fairfax County Police Officers from the McLean District Station will conduct a sobriety checkpoint to deter and apprehend intoxicated drivers from 11:30 p.m. Saturday June 11 to 2:30 a.m. Sunday. All motorists will be stopped and drivers will be checked to assure that their abilities to drive have not been impaired by alcohol or drugs.

Fairfax County Police Officers in the McLean District Station conducted a sobriety checkpoint from 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 11 to 2:30 a.m. Sunday. All motorists were stopped, and the drivers were checked to assure their abilities to drive had not been impaired by alcohol or drugs. Approximately 683 cars passed through the checkpoint conducted on Route 7 eastbound at Howard Avenue. Two motorists were arrested for driving while intoxicated; five other traffic offenses were cited and one other criminal offense.

Of what possible use is the waste of electrons of posting a thread about a DWI checkpoint when the last N checkpoints have resulted in hundreds upon hundreds of citizens stopped and LESS than a handful of DWIs found?

The idea that the roads are full of DWIs is as groundless as the idea that the woods are full of sex perverts ready to rape (see the other recent thread for that one).

it is kinda sad, this waste of manpower. Two cops sitting on standard patrol on 7 could have prolly caught the 2 dwi...............
