Potentially 2 Westfield Bulldogs on the same roster! Who says Virginia isn't a hotbed for football.

I seriously doubt SJC would go after a kid who hasn't thrown a meaningful pass in a high school football game yet. I'm soooo tired of hearing about how great this kid is. I know he was awesome in SYA football, so too are a list of kids who vanished once they started playing high school ball. I know he was awesome playing for the USA U-16 team, that whole program is a overrated, you're playing against kids from Canada and elsewhere where football is a joke. What I find humorous is the kid isn't even a lock to be the starting QB next year, still has to win the job. Want to know the caliber of player he is, watch when WF plays Dematha in pre-season. Then we'll see how "great" this kid is.....

I was on the coaching staff for coach Sampson the last season the kid played for SYA at 130 (it was my sons last season of league ball also), we beat his team in a regular season game but coach Sampson told the SJC scout (who comes to majority of his home games) he needed to go talk to Kim kid and Tyler Savage. So yes, SJC scouted both kids and tried to recruit them, whatever happened as to why they didn't go there, I have no idea, you'd have to talk to their folks about that.

I have to ask you, why the bitterness towards this kid, it's not his fault you have grown adults coming on this mb talking about him, you're the one commenting on something that is a few days old. Also your comment about let's see what he does against DeMatha, DeMatha makes any public hs look quite pedestrian because DeMatha has D1 caliber athletes at every position so not a fair comparison. Lastly, who does WHS have at the QB position that can beat him out for starters position on varsity (I don't know who's on WHS depth chart)?

Funny how that 130lb team is run better than some high school programs in the area.

You were on his coaching staff yet don't know how to spell his name? I don't believe you

I was wondering why Kurt Cousins wouldn't sign our offer.

You realize SJC lost to DeMatha twice last year, 14-13 in the regular season then 34-29 in the WCAC championship. So, that would put SJC in the category, or pretty damn close, to that of DeMatha. In other words, if SJC is recruiting a QB for 2017 to try and defeat the Stags I'm sure they're going to go after someone who has proven their ability against quality opponents. The aforementioned player would thus be excluded from the conversation since he has zero varsity starts or meaningful playing time. I believe the original poster who narrowed it down to the two programs in Virginia that had QB's who started and won their respective championships would be accurate.

Are you slow or stupid? SJC obviously wants to recruit a Sophmore QB to keep in their system and have him ready as a Jr possibly to be the varsity starter. You must be some dumb kid.

Yeah you're right, a team like SJC, who had a player that they recruited from Canada, would definitely recruit a freshman, who has not played one significant snap of high school ball. Makes perfectly good sense to me, you're right, I must be stupid.....

Don't you have a bus to catch. What part is so hard for you to get through your thick ass skull. You don't think WCAC schools recruit underclassmen?

Yes, you are stupid. How do you think recruiting works? They build a program with sophomore and junior tranfsers? Ya don't think they might recruit middle school atheletes to go to their school and play freshmen?

I CAN'T BELIEVE COLLEGES WOULD RECRUIT PLAYERS WHO HAVE NOT PLAYED ONE SIGNIFICANT SNAP OF COLLEGE BALL!!!!!

Regardless, when your team wins the state championship, head on down to Arthur Treacher's for some victory fish and chips! What team wouldn't love the freshness of hush puppies? And why not celebrate with an ice cold grape Fanta soft drink?

They do, ones who STARTED or PLAYED significant snaps as a freshman on a varsity, not JV team. Someone who's displayed they can compete against the level of competition the program recruiting them can compete with. Before slinging insults you should think, or at the very least get some knowledge about how and who schools, high school or college, recruit!

Your kids all have concussions and will probably never be able to have the synapse connections required to realize that Arthur Treacher's has the most amazing, fresh, hot fish and chips in the area.

Sucks to be them. Probably should have stuck with golf instead of some fucking retarded shit sport like football.

Hey homer, they recruit blue chip talent, not some average to slightly above average youth QB. You and the other moron need to learn a thing about talent and how schools like the WCAC recruit.

What is the best food to eat while watching gay football?

Fish and Chips, of course! From Arthur Treacher's!

Seriously, who the fuck watches football anymore? Probably the lamest sport out there today. Cricket is more exciting and it is played by Indians for chrissake.

You're really stupid, probably a "flat earner". I'm telling you kid got recruited by SJC but you insist he didn't, I was there, you weren't.
Also you never answered previous question, what do you have against him and who on WHS roster can beat him out for QB1 next season since you seem to know so much.

Any news on any new transfers to Westfield? Normally they don't get any because they don't really recruit but after going back to back I would assume that they would have at least one significant transfer.

Mr. Kim, please stop quoting the entire reply (like I did, as an example). Instead, quote the last paragraph of the reply you're referring to.

Well, the kid who started at QB his freshman year for starters. Last year as a sophomore he played varsity, didn't play QB but was an all purpose type of player. He's smart, tough, and very athletic, has a good arm too. I'd say he's got a good shot since the coaches love him, especially the QB coach. Think WF learned their lesson a couple seasons ago when they had a QB play based off of his youth stats and hype. Had to go to the back-up in post season to win it all, bet they aren't going to do that again!

You obviously didn't see him lined up to the freshman kid side by side, Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen could see which was the better QB. Sophomore kid couldn't make all the throws and barely can throw it 40yds down field. That's why he got moved around. Just saying....

According to Prep Top 100 a junior QB from San Joaquin Valley is transferring to the VA area, military family. He is looking at LB, Westfield, Centreville for public schools. Also private schools could be in play to, doesn't say which ones.

This kid was rated top 5 in the sophomore class for QBs Listed at 6'4 215
That could be interesting!

According to multiple sources Westfield is searching hard for a quarterback who can throw the ball for more than 20 yards..All the other pieces are coming together but they need a average high school QB to make offence work, the door is wide open for any transfer s.

If he's smart he'd go to SC and have the best WR to throw to. CVHS is where QB's go to hand off the ball & he's a year too late for WHS, all their top WR's are gone.

It seems every year is the year that's too late at WF, but they always have kids that step in and compete.

But I will not argue with you about Spaulding, he is definitely the best WR in the area.

"All their top receivers are gone." You have no idea how many times I've heard that as a Westfield fan. But the truth is, they have a very good trio of receivers in Woodley, Pickett, and Burns. Probably the best trio in the district. That along with Cockrill at TE and Asante a year better at RB, Westfield should be set. Defensive secondary should be a strength as they only lose 1 starter, while retaining the other 4. 2 linebackers that played a lot (Clancy and McClain) should be back. Special Teams won't be as good as last year but they will be decent at least. OL should be bringing back 3-4 players who got play time last year, and DL will be bringing back 2 contributors. That along with the 1 or 2 surprise players that Westfield seems to have every year and their amazing coaching staff, they should be making another run. Maybe not win it all but they can stick with any team in the area. As for QB, I personally don't know how good Kim is or will be. What I do know is he's more polished than any other QB that's came through the last 8-9 years. He also has ridiculous athleticism. Although this doesn't guarantee success, don't be surprised if he lives up to the hype.

Mike Glennon was the last true star they had at the QB position, man he was awesome to watch. But I always thought Chris Mullins was one hell of a QB, not Glennon's category, but very good. He had a cannon, was accurate, big and strong, and could run people over. He was in the class of 2013, only started his senior season but man did he have an arm. He's at a D3 school now I believe somewhere up north.

Mullins is at Nichol's College (D3) and had himself a heck of year last fall.

Best receiver in the area is Hayfield's Brian Cobbs without a doubt. Cobbs had more catches, more yards and and one less touchdown than Spalding, Dont get me wrong Spalding is good but not in the class as Cobbs. Athleticism is what sets Cobbs apart from others. Additionally he is an A student, all conference in basketball; the total package.

Who's the QB for the upcoming year, last seasons was a senior right?

Hayfield landed a QB transfer from down south. A D1 baseball player who will be better than the QB they had last year. They will contend for the region next year.

Running back transfer from down south also is already enrolled at Hayfield. Hawks should be battling for the title if things come together as they should. South Lakes and Westfield will be at the top again along with the Hawks, SoCo and Madison.

Lake Braddock even with a new coach should be near the top and who knows might finally be able to win the big one, something the previous coach could never do.

Lake Braddock has very little coming back plus a new coaching staff, look for them to be average for a few years.

Braddock has been overachieving for the last few years anyways, that's why it catches up to them in the playoffs.

We all know who it is, Jason Street -QB1 and Brian "Smash" Williams -RB.

You left out Centreville - they will right there again this season. They will have another 8-9 win season. No questions about it.

Win as much as they do, gonna have turnover, just hope Simmons or Shields don't get lured away, that would really set them back.

LB coach King is gone too, moved to CA. They'll be fine, the coaches may change but the programs identity remains the same, extremely successful.

They will do what they've done pretty much every year over the past 17 years they've been open, win. Only 4 times have they failed to win 9 games in a season, not too bad. They've been to the post season 15 consecutive years, Region championship the past 6 seasons, and of course back to back State championships.

Not saying they're going to win the state championship, not at all. But they'll compete, be a tough opponent for whomever they play.

Players and coaches come and go in this program but they seem to be able to remain consistent. Pretty impressive stuff...

I hear what're saying and make some good points but that is a lot of staff to lose in one off season (not to mention all those top players). It'll be an interesting season, wide open, can see multiple teams vying for states this year not just WHS, CVHS or LB (the usual suspects).

Everything you say is true - but to lose exceptionally dynamic and innovative DC's two years in a row is a big deal. MG was basically groomed for that DC job and I don't think he will be that easily replaced. Perhaps I will be proven wrong but I agree with the nervous one.

I hear you, but don't forget, Simmons was the d-coordinator under Verbanic, Shields was the D-coordinator under Simmons in the beginning. They'll be fine, there's always someone that comes in and contributes. That's the benefit of having a solid program. I also understand they lost some talent, but they do every year, along with every other team out there. But WF always seems to have new faces that step in and step up...

I don't know what they'll do about the coaching staff, it definetly hurts to lose Coach G, but from what I here, expect Westfield to have some key contributors that you've never heard of before.

Care to elaborate on who those contributors might be? In regard to coach G., he was awesome, but if they survived without Everett they'll certainly survive without G. Ask any player who played when Everett was there and they'll tell you he ran the show.

Oldtimers – we all have an idea of who some of the best QB’s from Fairfax County in recent times were: Mike and Sean Glennon, Chris Coyer, Bryn Renner etc. But who were the top QBs from Fairfax County in the 1970s, 80s and 90s? Who is the top 10 from each decade? I have no idea at all.
