Zorn's expression tells it all. He has had that expression since pre-season. I actually feel bad for the guy. He was doomed to fail from the start and is just now realizing it.

Low point - I would say I care less now then ever and I do not remember the team as a whole being as uninteresting before. The offense cannot execute more than a handful of plays per game.

Looked like the play calling and design is terrible. Usually the defense is okay but yesterday they looked bad. We always choke on the big plays on O and D.

I've always thought the D was over-rated. They always get props for their play in the Red Zone but that's because the opponent spends so damn much time in the Skins' Red Zone. They are always bad at pressure. They can't stop the run and their secondary can't break up passes or make interceptions. Their claim to fame is tackling a receiver after an eight-yard reception. To give you an idea of how fucked up the D's mindset is, I saw one of the linebackers celebrating after he took down the Lions RB who had just run eight yards. Celebrate when you actually do something worth celebrating.

What talent???

Santana Moss would be a #2 or #3 on any other team.

Portis is done.

The only top caliber player is Cooley, and they would rather throw to Devin Thomas or Mike Sellers in the End Zone than Cooley.

London Fletcher has heart, but I don't see him blowing through the other team's O-Line. Fat Albert is already looking like a bust. The secondary is too damn afraid to try to break up plays.

And on NBC's "Football Night America" Rodney Harrison said "why are they sticking with Jason Campbell? He's a backup quarterback at best...".

At this point the only hope is that Danny Synder's other dismally-run businesses tank at one time so he has to sell the Redskins.

I wonder what the halftime conversation in the locker room was. It was probably "we're doing some things right but we need to do some of these other things" instead of what it should have been, "you guys are going to lose to the fucking LIONS? Do you guys REALLY suck THAT bad?! Get out there and tear them to shreds or you are going to be the laughing stock at home!"

Harrison is correct. Campbell likely isn't a 1st string NFL QB.

But the fact that he is shows how Snyder and Cerrato so badly muck up the works.

They this summer advertised all over the place how badly they wanted Mark Sanchez. OK, looks like they knew the obvious - Sanchez appears to be very, very good.

But there was no consideration as to what would happen if they failed. Once having gone public, they should have closed the deal with Sanchez or another good to great QB, because to fail to do so meant more pressure and organizational strife with respect to an already struggling QB. Campbell is playing like someone who won't make a mistake - of course, there's no production either.

And the duo can't close on high profile players because, well, they simply are not good employers who players like to play for. They can close on a few defensive players who simply want the money (Haynesworth, Hall), but that doesn't make for a winning team. And they don't do well in the draft, trading away choices for free agents and otherwise not treating the drafted players like a good long term relationship is in the offing.

This team will not turn around until Snyder sells it. Look forward to another decade of mediocrity.

Why was Tom Cruise on the field chatting with the head coach before the game????? To make Danny look important and happin. I heard a clip today of Jim Zorn saying that you should have respect for men and shouldn't have to yell at them to motivate them.

Tell that to Bill Parcells, Bill Belichick, Bill Cowher, George Halas, etc.

Or, for that matter, tell that to General George S. Patton, Admiral Elmo Zumwalt or any drill sergeant in the military.

The fact is sometimes you have to yell. Especially when people aren't getting the message any other way. I'm not into this concept of yelling about everything. But a strategic ass-reaming is a great motivator because it gives people incentive to do better so they don't get their ass reamed again. When you are dealing with people sitting on $40 million guaranteed deals, sometimes that's the ONLY tool you have to motivate them.

You can't tell me that guys like Dungy haven't had a "come to Jesus" moment in the locker room (pun intended). Just because you have a reputation as a "nice guy," doesn't mean you don't kick someone in the ass when they need it.

Look at Dick Vermeil. Everyone loves the guy. But he also had the reputation of being an SOB when you crossed him. Zorn needs to find his inner SOB and wake some of these people up.

The Redskins didn't win that game. The Bucs lost it by blowing two gimme field goals. I assume that kicker won't be playing for them next week.

Battle of the woeful QBs.

The good news is there are worse QB's than Campbell. Jamarcus Russell is quite possibly the worst QB to ever play in the NFL and makes Campbell look like Peyton Manning.

The Bucs QB is dreadful too. For the life of me, I can't figure out why the Buc's coach didn't play Leftwich. Thank goodness he didn't.

Nah haters, ugly as it may have been the Skins did win that game.

On the two missed field goals the defense held Tampa fairly far out and the defense held them to field goal attempts throughout after the terrible fumble that led to a touchdown in the beginning. Being down 10-0 they really could have folded it's good to get the win at this point 2-2 is better than 1-3.

As for the Bucs QB he played much better than Leftwich last week and being his first ever start there were a lot of things I liked about him. He just got to dependent on the run in the second half, part being that terrible Tampa Bay offense.

The final thing I got to say is we got to score damn it. The Lions have given up 48, 48, 35 and we got only 14 points on them. I didn't look this up, so don't quote me on it, but I'm pretty sure we're the only team not to score 20 points in a game this year.

but still the redskins are mediocre. Nothing has changed here in DC with Dan still running the show.

Like i said though. the skins especially in the 1st half played like SHIT, and still found a way to win. If they can pick it up in practice and come out of the gates next sunday ready to play, they can be a good team , i know it..

They played okay in the second half. The problem is that the Bucs are a terrible team. A win is a win, I guess. But the Bucs were two missed field goals away from winning. It's pure luck that the Skins won this time, in my opinion.

Ouch - on the NFL pregame show on FOX, Jimmy Johnson nailed the Redskins. Said they need to basically toss out the entire team philosophy, they had too many overpriced and "near end of career" players, and no way that Zorn could turn the team around.

You know it's bad when they single out your team on the show and do a whole segment on them.

He was spot on.

I love having my Sundays again. No way I bother watching the loser Skins. I saw them score in the first 2 min. and didnt even think twice about turning the game off and going out with the family to make a scarecrow at Colvin Mill.

Turns out I come home to catch the last 10 min. and see the hapless Skins snatch defeat from the jaws of victory yet again; from a team that was 0-4 this season. That following a loss to Detroit that had not won in 18 games.

The Skins have one of the easiest schedules in football and they are losing to the worst teams. Basically they are a suck team (if you could call them a team).

They will always find a way to lose.

I'll give the Skins this. That turnover on the punt was one of the worst calls I have seen since the non-fumble between the Broncos and Chargers last year. Westbrook was pushed into Randel El by one of the Panthers. There should have been a penalty called against the Panthers. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

I would be shocked if the NFL didn't take a look at that and conclude that the officials screwed up. And I don't get Zorn agreeing to a review of it "hitting a Washington Redskin first." That wasn't the issue at all. The issue was that Randle El wasn't given the opportunity to field the kcik because the Panthers pushed one of his own teammates into him. Where the hell were the guys upstairs to tell him that? And given that, Zorn should have withdrawn the challenge if the play wasn't reviewable for that.

More disarray with the Skins.

I think the Chiefs may win. Their defense has looked pretty decent since Day 1 and it appears from the way they played today that the offense is catching up.

The Skins barely beat two of the worst teams in the NFL. The Bucs and Rams are trainwreck teams. The Lions, while not great, are vastly improved over last year. And the Panthers have not reason not to be a good team besides a bad start to the season from Jake Delhomme.

I think the Chiefs are far superior to the Rams and the Bucs, despite their record. I still think the Skins could still win, but it is time for the homers to realize that the Skins are in the Top 5 of worst NFL teams this season (ahead of the Rams, Bucs, Raiders and Browns).

So, the Skins are probably excited about scoring 2 TD's today and will tout that all week. However, one TD drive was from 1 yard away and the other from 13 yards away, so in total, they only had to go 14 yards for 14 points.

Other than that, the offense did NOTHING. As usual,Campbell was indecisive, boring and frightened and couldn't even get the ball to Cooley once.

This may have been their most pathetic game to date.

Fire everyone, 30 years as a fan and i've never seen such a pathetic Redskins team. The coaches are terrible and the players don't have heart. Enough is enough. Snyder aint going no where, so make a damn mone already Dan.

Release every pussy on this team and have an open tryout, it cant get much worse.

The problem isn't the players or the coaches. The problem is the owner. If Marty Schottenheimer and Joe Gibbs couldn't succeed here, no one can. If players like Brad Johnson, Ryan Clark and Stephen Davis can't make it to the Super Bowl here but can for other teams, the problem is the owner.

You say that Dan Snyder isn't going anywhere, and this is true. But he will NEVER change. He could hire a dream team with Peyton Manning, Randy Moss and Frank Gore and end up with the same offensive performance.

The fact is Snyder fosters an environment of failure. He undermines his coaches. He gets involved in personnel decisions he shouldn't get involved in. He hires people and then tries to do their jobs for them.

It will never change. That's why I am no longer a Redskins fan.

I hereby take back every bad thing I've ever said about Kyle Ortin. He's looked like Peyton Manning for the past 2 weeks.

I also re-double my condemnation of Jason Campbell. This offense will never go anywhere with him at the helm.

Dan Snyder is ruining my whole football experience on Sundays. Can't we all sign some petition or something and relieve him of command?

I always thought Kyle Orton was an underrated game manager. But you are right. He looks like a friggin' MVP in McDaniel's system.

While Campbell had his issues, he made the best of the opportunities presented when they got turnovers. The big problem was the defense in the second half. I swear they played prevent defense in the second half. WTF was Blache thinking?

I'll take October 28th. D-Day in Ashburn.

He will be gone the Monday after they lose to the Chiefs. That will give the new head coach two whole weeks to prepare.

Schottenheimer to Dallas seems like a longshot. Marty's already dealt with one meddling asshole of an owner. Why would he do this?

Tony Dungee is very friendly with the Colts still and I can't see him going back to a place that clearly didn't appreciate him.

Talk has started in Carolina? That's surprising even with their bad record this year.

Andy Reid is about to sign a contract extension with the Eagles, so you can forget about this one.

I would be shocked if Snyder brings in Chucky. Although if no one else wants the gig, it might be all he has left.

First, Jerry Jones has already fired every coach who was tough because he couldn't get along with them. Second, Dallas can already make it to the playoffs. They can't win. Schottenheimer already has that covered. Third, doesn't Dallas have some hot-shot OC who has already been promised the job?

Tampa is an absolute disaster under this new guy. I definitely don't think this guy is there next season at this rate. Marty might actually make sense in Tampa.

Reid's future depends on what happens this year. If the Eagles make it to the Super Bowl again, Reid will hang in there.

The trend is toward young coaches. Snyder and Gruden might fool themselves into thinking they can work together. Holmgren's huge ego may allow him to convince himself he can succeed in Ashburn despite Danny Boy. Given the problems Danny Boy is wrestling with, I see a big name coach coming in to save his bacon. I really think he will somehow con Holmgren into this. I also see Campbell going to Seattle as the future of the Seahawks if that happens and someone like Brady Quinn ending up in DC.

I'm okay with Campbell leaving, but I don't like the Brady Quinn part.

I think they draft a 2nd round QB next year and plug him right in. Either that or get Brennan and Daniels up to speed.

When I think about it, I really don't think Zorn is a good QB coach either. I disagree with taking someone that was successful in college (or the pro's) and try to change everything he was taught.

Some things to consider,,,,,
When Dan Snyder stands next to Chucky he wont look like a dwarf, and he would be the first coach that isn't old enough to be Danny's daddy

Keep Cooley. Bench or fire everyone else on the Offense.

Hire some talented practice squad players and amateurs (strike year) to play out the year. We will lose the rest of the schedule no matter what - why not find some hidden talent in the industry? One or two gems would bring something out of the season.

I'll never abandon my 'Skins, but damn, watching them play is pathetic and depressing at the same time. What was up with Randle El taking the Punt Return to the face mask, and then turning it over? The only explanation I can come up with is that the ball must've been crossing through the stadium light glare, but that was still crazy.

Oh well, at least I still have my Yanks and Caps to look forward to.

You know, I came to the conclusion that no matter what I say, I truly am a Redskins fan and I want them to do well. I just have no faith in them. About the only reason I even tune into the game occasionally is to see how badly they're losing. I've accepted the fact that they're losers and that there's nothing I can do about it. Now my entertainment comes from watching the experts directly call Snyder an idiot and laughing at Homers as they rant and rave about yet another loss. Seriously, what makes anyone think these guys can win anything?

So which was worse in today's game? Watching Campbell get the holy shit kicked out of him by a three-man rush, or watching Jim Zorn stand on the sideline like he was some guy on the concourse waiting to buy a beer and a hot dog while D'Angelo Hall or Albert Haynesworth nearly got ejected from the game? What a fucking nightmare (but at least they got their 17 points!)

There was good news from today's game? I don't think we should refer to the Redskins as "the Redskin team." We should say "the guys who are playing in the Redskins jerseys."

So the Redskins handily defeat the pathetic Raiders and now everyone is on the radio this morning saying, "Stay the course with Zorn" and "Maybe Vinny Cerrato isn't that bad."

Are these people out of their fucking minds???? The reason the Raiders flopped yesterday is because JaMarcus Russell was the QB for the second half. JaMarcus Russell shouldn't even be on an NFL practice squad, much playing QB in an actual game.

Get over it, people. The Skins are a bit better than they were, but they aren't a playoff caliber team and won't be with the personnel they have or with Zorn as the coach or with Vinny/Danny Boy as GM.

The only thing the Raiders or Redskins should battle for first place on is "Which team is the worst run team in the NFL?

To this day, I cannot believe that the Raiders picked JaMarcus Russell first overall.

The Redskins will reach their maximum potential of 4-12/5-11 which most realists figured from Week 1.

I admit that JaMarcus Russell was fucking phenomenal in the Sugar Bowl. But, you are right. The Raiders had a reputation for using seasoned journeymen QBs like Rich Gannon and Jim Plunkett. Even when they drafted Kenny Stabler, it wasn't in the 1st Round. Maybe that's why Al Davis hates Lane Kiffin so much.

JaMarcus Russell is by far the worst NFL QB I've ever seen. Even after he botched the second half of the Skins game, the coach of the Raiders says they still plan on him being their future franchise QB.

WTF?

Hopefully Cable meant that they would play Russell until Gradkowski gets better. I realize Al Davis is insane and has spent a lot of money of Russell, but he couldn't possibly be insisting that Cable play that guy when Gradkowski is at least functional at QB.

And look how well that turned out. Most of their success has been tied to using veterans.

Danny Boy won't be able to help himself. I bet by this time next year there will be stories in the press about how Danny Boy is trying to force Bruce Allen out. That's the way the angry midget rolls.
