And the lies begin. Some news outlets portray him as a poor peasant farmer from humble beginnings. He is the bastard son of Ángel Castro y Argiz and his mistress. He was a violent left wing activist student with a law degree, sent to boarding schools by his wealthy father. He married a wealthy woman, Mirta Diaz-Balart and has had the life of a king. He has 7 palatial mansions in Cuba, and many others in Europe. He has many children by many women, all educated in top European schools. He has a personal fortune of billions, while his surfs live below the poverty line. So while world leaders try to tell us how humble and wonderful Fidel Castro was as a leader, maybe those who are still in prison because he didn't like their political views or religious beliefs will have a chance to be freed. Good riddance to a left wing tyrant who was living the left wing liberal dream. I think we dodged a bullet on November 8th.

You are so wrong ..we did not dodge the bullet.
Also, Castro was a communist you dumb fuck! No communist in the USA, just partial socialist programs. Social security etc. Only advanced country without some kind of universal healthcare. Oh my, so terrible..socialized medicine.
But lets send "Aid" to other countries by the billions.
Socialism and communism are just separated by the degree of control. The philosophy is the same. If Hillary had won, she would control the executive branch. After appointing the ninth justice, the supreme court, and upon selecting the attorney General, would be in control of the justce department. In short, the judicial branch. She would be able to effectively bypass the congress. How far she would go? Thankfully we'll never know. It would however diminished greatly any voice but hers on national political matters. As for healthcare, everyone I know that didn't work for the government or a very large company was loosing their healthcare while being forced to pay for others plans. So yes, I can say with reason that we dodged a bullet.
There's no need to make demands on Cuba. They'll probably change over time as the market opens up. There's no need to cry over the people and corporations that lost by supporting the previous dictator. This is one of those acts of God where the US taxpayer or soldier shouldn't have to sacrifice to make whole the losers in an investment.
Corporate Socialism (EU). State capitalism (China), Crony capitalism (US), Cartel/chaebol/keiretrsu capitalism (Japan, Korea, Indonesia, etc.). They all behave similarly as the interests of the government and the largest corporates converge.
The DNC is organizing a candlelight vigil at the White House Sunday at 6PM in celebration of the freedom and prosperity that Castro brought to the people of Cuba. Soros is paying $12/hr to attendees.
It's really a shame that all the left wing Castro lovers and sympathisers didn't have the privilege to live under his regime. They would have a chance to witness first hand his generosity. They would have been able to experience his commitment to freedom of speech. They would have also enjoyed his prisons, oh sorry, rededication centers, free of charge. Just a little hard labor for the cause. Long live Castro and the ideals he live for. There are a lot of Cubans that escaped his utopia that may disagree with you. But they only had to live through it, so what do they know?
In 1957 castro met with leading members of the Partido Ortodoxo, Raúl Chibás and Felipe Pazos, authoring the Sierra Maestra Manifesto, in which they demanded that a provisional civilian government be set up to implement moderate agrarian reform, industrialization, and a literacy campaign before holding multiparty elections.[99] As Cuba's press was censored, Castro contacted foreign media to spread his message
castro said he loved his people, and certainly making a Cuba economy thrive would be a challege if he did or didn't
however despite his initial support of Sierra Maestra and professing Cuba needed less corruption (a declaration of independance, more than 80 countries (or many more than) have some such document)
Fidel's gov. did not allow elections. From the beginning he had told his military crew only a strong leader could overthrow the previous dictator and keep those forces out.
despite that Fidel's strong captain's beard and personality, he showed no aggression while in power
Cuba attacked no-one, but coup-de-ta attempts to overthrow cuba were not infrequent (ie, bay of pigs, usa failed attempt to overthrow the castro regime and their choice of russian economic ties). Fidel may have been quite correct his little island would not hold together without a strongly lead military commander
When the government of Cuban President Tomás Estrada Palma collapsed, U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt ordered U.S. military forces into Cuba. Their mission was to prevent fighting between the Cubans, to protect U.S. economic interests there, and to hold free elections in order to establish a new and legitimate government.
CUBA had free elections, though quite possibly more corrupt leadership, until Castro
Communism/Socialism/Progressivism/Liberalism Democrats can eat shit. You guys are the problem in the world. Ever since 1848, you Democrats have been stirring up shit. Conservatives work hard, invent things, make lives easier. Democrats revolt. Hell, Democrats take Japanese citizens, and jail them for years.
Trump is the President. I hope he cherishes the values of America, and suddenly Cuba will be our greatest ally. The Cubans revolt, and jail ever single last Communist, starting with that whining faggot, raul.

Fidel has been more a patriot to the USA citizens than any of its presidents has
What you treasonous redneck fucks should do is kill yourself and then ask Fidel if Lee Harvey Oswald could have hit that target from the 6th floor window?
He would say no...has any of your presidents told the truth on that matter
children...beware of of following the north american white devil view of history
Absolutely true. He has, from my understanding, 54 children, all European educated, 6 or 7 palatial mansions in Cuba, and many estates all over the world. Meanwhile, his citizens live off a meager diet, ride bicycles or walk due to a two class system. Politically connected, including those in power, and everyone else. The healthcare is free, but people often come to Miami and elsewhere to get better care if they can manage to do so. Castro was a pig. All for him, scraps for everyone else.
