What happens if you live in VA and you ignore a DC photo speeding ticket?

Pretty much nothing. But in time they will put your tags in their system and then they will slam you if they see you. If you spend time driving in the District. the easiest thing is to just pay. You ARE guilty, after all.

Don't pay it. They can't do a damn thing. If you must go back to DC, take your current tags to DMV and exchange them for new ones. Just say you don't like the numbers on the ones you have. They'll give you new tags without a problem.

Ignore the letters from DC DMV. They'll threaten and bluster but in the end can't do a fucking thing to you. There's no reciprocity between DC and VA on their shit photo tickets.

I owe DC about $1500 over the past five years. The letters will eventually stop.

They use an internal collection agency. If if appears on your report, challenge it. They (the DC govt) must verify and validate within 30 days or it disappears. Niggers that work for DC can't find their own ass using both hands within 30 days. Poof, it's gone forever.

I've got a TS clearance and when asked about why I owe DC money, I explained as above and the investigator just smiled and said "good for you". It's not a problem.

Can confirm! I rang up $4,200 in camera related fines from DC as a VA resident. I was actually pulled over for a moving violation and the officer "informed" me of the overdue balance. I just said, "Gee officer, I'm so sorry...I never received any of those citations in my mailbox. I'll go home and take care of this straight away."

So, I paid the moving violation a week later and continued ignoring the camera offenses...that was 6 years ago. I've moved twice (processed 2 low-rate mortgages, too...without incident) and I've changed cars and license plates 4 times.

If they find me, they find me and I'll pay up. All it would take is a certified letter or process server. But, for now...this never happened until the city properly proves that it did.

A long time ago DC would boot your car if you didn’t pay your parking tickets. That’s different, I guess.

DC is ruthless. The fine will double. Then other fees are added. Each time I ignored the ticket a new copy would show up two months later.

If I had paid the first notice, I would have saved 56 dollars.

I just change tags when needed. I learned that from a guy who ran a courier service in DC years ago. DC is looking for a blue Chevy with tags ABC123, which I've exchanged for tags XYZ456. My new tags never show up on the radar.

And the claims on my credit reports are gone and under federal law may not be shown again.

I've changed twice in three years. And it's worked. In DC, it's not a matter of driving like an asshole. The traffic camera system is flawed on many levels - the presumption of guilt based on a still photo where the driver is not visible, the lack of any acknowledgment of who was driving, the inability of the accused to face their accuser in court, and the setup/maintenance of the system by a contractor who is paid a portion of each fine. Basically DC sends you a photo of your car and demands money from you - based on what? And while there's no ability to back up empty threats made by DC government, most people simply pay. There's no need to as there are no consequences for not paying - other than writing a letter and a stop at DMV. How many millions does DC make from these bullshit scams? Many!

Will you send somebody money just because they say you should? Send me some. I know that cleaning Slurpee machines doesn't pay much, but if you're willing to be robbed by a bunch of DC thug niggers, then get out your checkbook. I've saved hundreds at last count. It's a numbers game. Not worth pursuing the one-timers.

Had it explained by a FC LEO. They'll send a bunch of letters which will stop eventually. Only after you get multiple tickets do they get more aggressive, but with no agreement between DC and VA there's not really much they can do. VA won't pursue it for them and DC cannot stop your registration or anything like that, ways in which they can go after their own. The most they can do is put it in collections, but their internal agency is inept. If caught in DC, you stand a chance of getting booted. He suggested the change-your-tags approach also.

Even FCPD laughs at law enforcement in DC as a bunch of bumbling clowns.
