STERLING, Va. (WJLA) - A road rage incident in Sterling, Virginia was all captured on camera and has already been viewed more than 126,000 times on YouTube in just five days.
It appears in the video a young teen with a school backpack crossed the road against the light when a driver had to swerve off the road to avoid hitting him.
Then, an extremely verbal and angry attack begins. A man with a helmet camera on a motorcycle tries to calm things down, but the camera only seems to intensify things.
No arrests were made and no charges were filed.

In case the TOOL in the Jeep had not figured out that Pedestrians have the right of way, even when they do something foolish.
As a driver you always have to be aware of what is going on, predict things and drive defensively.
My guess is the ASS WIPE in the Jeep drove it up on the grass/sidewalk to get out to confront the kid, I doubt he ended up on the grass/sidewalk trying to avoid the kid.
The ADULT should have been charged with Verbal Assault. His behavior is totally uncalled for.

The driver of the Jeep is a total asshat. He's way out of control and overreacting. He has no right to talk to the kid like that. The kid has no attitude at all, he's just calm and taking a verbal barrage. Good for the dude on the motorcycle for stepping in and helping him out. That stupid kid deserved a good set down. The driver was probably thinking that if he had hit the dumbass kid, who wandered right in front of his car, the police would charge the driver. Pedestrians need to take responsibility for looking both ways and obeying traffic signs. Same for bicyclists who blow through stop signs. The driver of the car always gets the blame when there is an accident due these idiots. I think the driver was so shook up from the near miss that he needed to vent.

Guy has anger issues. He was scared and that is understandable from his perspective (maybe). There is something called a 'shame response' it applies to us when we are upset, have done or nearly done something wrong and we panic. This is a classic example. The guy is ashamed he got so upset and yelled at the kid (and drove his silly looking yellow jeep up on the grass) so he doubles down and starts yelling at the guy with the camera and tells the police he is some kind of victim in all this.
The kid reacted very well as did the guy with the camera. Bonus was the police officer driving at a high rate of speed to a defused situation. Perfect example of the officer not driving safely either. What a waste of everyone's time and money. Fat guy should have slowed down yelled at the kid and left not freaked out. Would not bet on this guys health in the near future.

Specifically, the driver was already past the pedestrian when he drove up on the grass. He parked his vehicle there and it was not part of any evasive maneuver. This was the set up for his cascading embarrassment. First he almost hits the kid then he parks on the grass, then he lets his fear and anger get the best of him.
Weird thing is he probably gets away with this immature behavior in his life so Im guessing this is somewhat normal for those who work with and know him. Not saying he has an alcohol problem but this is typical behavior in those that do...

The douche in the Jeep pulled off the road to confront the kid. If you look very close at the beginning of the video the Jeep is beyond the kid when the guy pulls off the road.
Hard to say exactly how close things were, but the guy in the Jeep would not likely have been killed if he hit the kid.

A car weighs a couple tons. A pedestrian weighs 150 lbs (depending on locale and ethnicity)? Thus, the pedestrian always has the right of way. You don't run someone the fuck over simply because you had the right of way. You also don't get out of your fucking car and do this. Call the kid an asshole as you drive by and go about your day. If this is the worst thing that happens, chalk it up to a good one.
That Jeep has to be his "nice weather" car. I guarantee there is a BMW, Mercedes, Lexus or Audi in his driveway. This guy is the new stereotypical middle-aged, Northern Virginia Office/White Guy. He's overweight, overpaid, under sexed, chronic diseased, closet depressed, constantly on the verge of snapping and he LOVES acting like a dick and being overly aggressive in traffic as his vehicle is his weapon.

A few days ago we were out of town and driving through a busy area and we saw a man with several little kids, the youngest around 4, starting across a busy road - no light, no cross walk, LOTS of traffic and people had to literally slam on their brakes and come to a complete stop. Being an effective sales person, especially in a sophisticated business like information technology, is difficult.
Of course, there is no way of knowing whether this guy is effective. But sales can be very challenging. It is not my cup of tea, but the difficulty of the job is not something to be dismissed.
I am always wary of people with mediocre educations who think they are smart. I am sure one can get a decent education at a place like Keene, but it is not a place the truly intelligent gravitate to, especially to play Division II baseball in cold weather.
The truly intelligent typically are more aware than most of their limitations, as a commonly found aspect of being truly intelligent and educated is knowing what you don't know. After barreling through a top so-called prestige graduate school, I felt a bit smarter in my field, but way less bright outside of it, recognizing just how contoured intelligence and analytic skills can be. Oddly, it made me respect working class people with a skill far more than I used to, perhaps because I realized just how little I possess in terms of practical skills. In other words, education should bring confidence, but also big, big doses of humility (not that I am anywhere near as good as I should be on these scores).
Something strikes me that the subtleties I describe above would be lost on our viral video friend, but who knows, maybe he had a bad day.
By the way, there would be nothing wrong in stopping and telling the kid "Gee, you scared the heck out of me, and let's you and I be careful, OK'? This is clearly not what our viral video friend, did, however. There could have been a responsible way to connect with this young person. No one wants a tragedy to happen - and heck, he is just a kid.
