Don't risk the illegal tinting- My car passed VA inspection for five years, I bought it used and didn't even know the tinting was over the limit. Tinted windows is a $30 fine, plus a $65 'processing fee' Yikes! I went to court and the judge said- 'too bad,' for an additional $30 court fee . . .

There's a place in Centreville on Rt. 29 south bound (physically West bound I guess). It's just before Rt. 28...it's a little shack with reflective tint on it's windows. They did my car about 2 years ago and I haven't had any issues. Can't think of the name of it, but that's where it was.
I have a crossover that came with 20% factory tint in the rear windows and I had them do 20% in the front...still not legal, but haven't been ticketed yet in 2 years. But as most have said, if you want "legal" you can only do 50% up front and 30 or 35% in back (I can't remember which). 50% isn't worth the money though (this place was about $90 for the two front windows)
The only other place I've gone to is in Herndon but I think they went under years ago.
Okay
so for those of you who think sunglasses are a suppliment for tinting...
Tinting is so people can't see in. It affects the transparency too on the inside but that's not why you get it. It blocks some UV rays but you can't see that feature.
Also the legal limit in Virginia:
Sedan: 35% back side and rear window
50% front side
NO windshield tint
SUV/Truck/Van: 5% Rear side (Also Middle window's in Van's) and rear window
50% front side
NO windshield tint
They were one of the cheaper one's and they have a lifetime warranty
4004 Walney Road, Chantilly, VA 20151
Coming from Herndon area on Centreville rd > When you pass through rt.50 it's the first little building on your right with the "WINDOW TINT" sign. I got myne done there 3 weeks ago and there are no bubbles and so far so good
BJ im glad your satisfied......I try to do the best work possible.

Ziebart tint shop in Fairfax...it is sucks..!!
Especially the person who working at front desk...
He soooooooo nut..i mean he does not know how treat the customer..
Even i made an appointment, i wait almost 2 hours.....
He never say anything what is going on....
After i ask about waiting... He just simply say....'Sorry..' and 'you can cancel the schedule....' like that....
If you are thinking Ziebart tint shop.. You better thinking another shop...
ZIEBART tint shop do not never ever ever go....~~~!!!
I have 27% the only place I have issues is in Centreville when the cops sit on the side of 28 and Old Cent. Road and wave you over if there is a problem.
That is all I know now...love u too bloody blisters...^^
Anyways...Im' still find tint shop for my car...
The tint shop at 4004 Walney Rd Chantilly, VA 20151-2919..
Anybody have an Idea for this shop??
R they working good?? ^^
yea definitely go with The Tint Shop, the original one in Chantilly right by Anita's. They do good work and stand by it. The main installer Magic does it good and it doesnt take all day. Got mine tinted there about three to four months ago and no problems at all. Plus, guarunteed not to turn purple, how great. Definitely stop in there. and plus, not to bad on your wallet either!

I have had eight cars done by LA Tint in Sterling. They are the BEST!! Don't trust a $60K car to some "guy" who won't be around to stand behind their product.

60K car... oooh, you mean your run of the mill bimmer or tahoe. got it. average tint for an average car. do you even know what tint was used on it? nope. because you're a toolbag. no 'el 'eh tinto. they mucho sucko.

LA Tint is not an option in my opinion. They really are all just about the money, not quality of the end product. Go with smaller businesses' who usually take the time to do it right and have pride in the cars they work on.
For what it's worth- newer shop in Sterling, VA did a perfect job on my wife's Mustang. Didn't shop the job and went straight there on recommendation from our auto repair shop in Herndon.
