What ever happened w/ that building where they created and leaked the Ebola- Reston virus strain. I heard they sealed and cemented the whole building?
Anyone heard about this?

I believe they are using it as a Day Laborer Center now.
what I meant is they imploded the whole thing and cemented over the rubble filled hole in the foundation, at least that's what I heard. I can't believe you guys thought I meant they poured cement on top of the building. Where was iit anyway?
The building was in Issac Newton Square. They took it down. It was right next to the Sunset Hills Day Care Center as you enter Issac Newton Sq off Sunset Hills.
but there are two ot three ebola strains one of the is the reston strain. thaT MEANS IT ORIGINATED THERE AND NOT THE PHILLIPINES. they had a specific strain of the virus that they got from the cdc, were fuking around w/ on monkeys and had an outbreak due to mishandling of the strain or during experiments w/ the monkeys, right?
Hot Zone was a pretty cool book, but had an element of BS to it. Try a little less hard to dramatize the possible destruction of the place I grew up next time.
I believe the place that was called CoVance Labs at 9200 Leesburg Pike might have had something to do with that also, as the last time I drove by there on Leesburg Pike I noticed that all the big barns and buildings that used to be there seem to have disappeared and the front gate is closed. The other drive or access road next to the gate has a cone blocking it off. The buildings used to be easily visible from the road, now there is nothing at all left that is visible. If that was not part of the Ebola issues years ago, then I wonder what might have happened there that it was torn down? I remember when it was active that the PETA people were trying to gain access there to photograph animal cruelty, as they used animals for lab experiments there. This was in the 90's. The property lies between Royal Estates Drive and Brook Road on Rt. 7, just before you get to the intersection with Brook Road/694 (Lewinsville Road). I have not driven back there to see if they rebuilt in the back of the property out of site of the road or not.

I worked there in the 70's when it was hazleton lab. I didn't know it was connected to Reston tho.
The place in Reston is on Whiele diagonally across from a McDonald's. It was torn down and a short office building was put up that had the offices for Ericsson electronics.
