I'm new to the area and am looking for a good barber. Preferably a good one, where there's no bullshit and the price is appropriate for the quality..

OR....
A barber with HUGE tits.

Near Fair Oaks??

Try the Greenbriar shopping center next to the 7-eleven. All asian barbers, great cuts for 12 bucks. The atmosphere is old school small town barber shop.

Virtually all the Barbers in the area are Korean some are good and others can't even speak english.

Try the Barber shop on Rt 123 in Oakton - next to the Wachovia in teh sptrip mall.

Threee chairs. The white due is very good, the Older Krrean guy is OK and the cougar in the middle chair is hot, nice to look at and gives a good cut. I thknk its 14 bucks.

No bullshit man, the best barber in fairfax I have found, works at Fair Oaks mall. He does an awesome job, you look fresh as shit coming out the shop. He is a turkish dude named Fezzy and works at The fair oaks mall, Barber of Seville. He will take care of you. A hair cut is 13 bucks last time I went, but I usually give him a 20 because he does such a good job. And as a former server in the area, I know a lot of people are jews and tip like shit.

Dont go. Like me, you might end up getting the Indian woman with B.O. and bad breath. Once, I got an asian woman who, in the middle of my haircut, went to talk to another one of her customers who came in the door, and then came back and while cutting my hair, answered her cell phone and kept talking on it.

terrible.

I second the recommendation of the place on 123 in Oakton near the Wachovia - both the younger dude and the MILF give good cuts and there usualy is no wait.

Also, an good old school barber is Bob's (next to Bob Evans) - they are located in that old high rise office biulding at the mixing bowl. Really a crappy building and weird to have a barber shop 7 floors up in an office building but they do a good job.

Agreed on all accounts. I usually wait for Cetin whenever I get a haircut there. Sometimes I'll go to another one of the barbers, but he's the best.

That's a good tip but I throw down at least 25 and usually more for a good cut. Most barbers can barely keep their shop doors open. It's not the same as tipping a waiter at a restaurant. You tip a barber more. Maybe that's just me.

I used to go to the barber shop in the K-mart shopping center of Herndon back in the day (Next to Gold's I think), until the time I arrived with 15 minutes to spare, and the guy refused. I said "Hey, it's not even (So and so time), you're open". Then he looks at his clock, and he says "Well, according to my clock, we're closed", so he shut the door and locked it. After that I started using the Hair Cuttery in the same shopping center, and a real nice Asian woman cut my hair. She left after a while, so I used the Hair Cuttery in Reston. I had a Viet dude named Tran cut my hair there for the past eight years, and he was the best. People were lined up out the door for him at times, because he was good at what he did, and he was a cool person. He just left this past month, though, and I don't know wth he went (They won't say anything at the shop).

In the meantime, I haven't had a trim-up in over a month. I'm going to end up with long hair soon if I don't find a barber/stylist.

They're all Vietnamese. I met a girl in Vietnam. She was 32yo and a university educated engineer employed by a Australian construction company. She married a 63yo dude from Tennessee and then enrolled in cosmetology school to get her license to cut hair... WTF? Why she didn't get an MBA instead is beyond me.

How much do barbers make in this area?

Do they keep a percent of each cut, plus tips?

Do they get any minimum wage, or do they rent the chair from the owners?

It just doesn't seem like it could pay bills around here.

Unless they do something else on the side.
