To all the firefighters and EMT's that posted and aired dirty laundry on here:

Congratulations, you just made a joke of your entire department.

You destroyed the image of valor and class that is associated with your profession. I feel sorry for the hardworking people that you brought down with you because I (and I am sure a lot of others) will never look at any of you the same. Don't be surprised if future fundraising efforts do not go as well as planned.

I don't care what a co-worker did or what rumor you heard, you do not post it like some juvenile coward on an anonymous public message board. To do so makes your entire department look bad, not just that person. You are a huge disappointment and a disgrace to your profession.

How can we trust you to take care of us with dignity and respect when you can't even do that for your own?

So you're just as bad as the people you're complaining about, by assuming what they said isn't true. Got it.


And I do care if what they said is true. In my line of work, I will not trust anyone, male or female, if they can't even control their fucking sexual drive.

How do you get I'm assuming it's not true - I don't care if it is true or not. But stuff like that needs to be handled internally. Now everyone that wears a Fairfax County Fire or EMT uniform looks like a bunch of petty gossip queens. Maybe go get a job at the Gap if you can't handle the expectations that come with the profession. Then you can gossip about whatever you want and discuss the latest sheninagans of the Kardashians like a bunch of teenage girls.

Wow! Is Fairfax County Fire and Rescue typical of other fire departments in Virginia. I'm glad I don't have to depend on this group for anything. Those that made these posts are a disgusting group.

Yes, it happens everywhere. It's an adrenaline junkie lifestyle...fires and risky relationships. I once had a roommate that volunteered regularly for Spotsylvania FD and it was worse than this with much less attractive people involved.

As a professional firefighter myself, I've had a great deal of admiration for your department and its member for many years. After following the posts and forum comments, I've lost a great deal of respect for you. My department of 1,200 of course has a percentage of idiots in both what they say and what they do, but I have to say you people are far from what I thought. Diffidently a well crafted facade that you maintain, but that's all it is. A bunch of keyboard commandos.

I'm just curious. With three quarters of fire calls being medical, why do FFX firefighters believe they are studs? Come on, even many actual fire calls are false alarms. The bell rings, get on the truck, run down the road, come back to the station and finish eating or continue video game. Actual fires usually result in a total loss of the structure. The insurance man then takes over.

If you're from another medium sized department of 1,200 then you'd know these are outliers of the group. You can change your opinion of them but it would only prove you believe anything you read on the Internet.

Sad to read so much middle school behavior on here.I was a volunteer in the 80s in another county, the Fairfax firefighters I know have retired, or most have, I always thought thought of Fairfax as a top notch department but reading this I now see there is middle school mentality. I do hope you all are just a few in your department.

If any of you had anything to do with Nicole's suicide I hope she haunts you for a long time.
