Why are Volunteer Firefighters and their supporters so dumb?

It's sad that people still think volunteers do some actual good. Why would you support that group?
The supporters are so self-righteous and think their shit don't stink too. You try to ask them why they think a certain way and instead of replying with an answer, they diss you because they don't know the reason why they are so fucking dumb.
I guess going to Church and praying is what justifies them for being huge douche nozzles but obviously they haven't learned that much from going.
Seriously, why are they so dumb and how do they even live?

True story: The Burke VFD went on a call and when they returned, their own firehouse had burned down.
Keystone cops operations. Couldn't put a campfire out. Smokey The Bear told them to stay home.
