Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
In any apartment project. You and neighbors shovel out your space and then watch the fun as others pull into them. Today its full game on! Though not as bad as some years past

Oh yeah. An apartment parking lot sucks in snow. Once the plow blocks you in, your neighbors do their handy work.
And then once you shovel yourself out and leave someone walks outside and moves their car into your nice clean spot because nothing is assigned. I don't miss those days and always think about them when it snows like this.

So all apartments in Fairfax County are section 8? (/s)
This is one of the advantages to owning your own townhouse/house. A reserved parking space.
I remember the parking wars well, spending all morning to dig out my car to run to the store or whatever, gone all of 20 minutes- come back and some jackass in a honda with flag and calvin pissing stickers on it parked there. I recognized the car as one of my neighbor's friends, went and knocked on the door, and asked him to move. At first he tried to play "no hablo ingles" but when i switched to spanish and mentioned his obvious fake 30 day dc temp tags here in VA (I knew people who did them back in the day, thats how I knew it was a fake!) and it would be a shame the cops had to come over a simple misunderstanding- he ran outside and moved it in 30 seconds flat.
If I ever had to go back to an apartment, I am springing for that reserved covered parking space just for times like this!!!
